Your videos are THE BEST hands down. Love seeing the older machines of the 70s do their stuff, specially the 66 series of the Big Reds. I grew up in the early 70s riding round on AW 6s and AW7s and Chamberlain tractors, Inter combines, and Inter headers, and still running a 1644 header with a 10-10 bat reel front. Compared to our previous Massey headers the 1644 is like a Rolls Royce. Keep up the great work.👍🏻

Thank you for the comment. I have some Chamberlain/John Deere tractors brochures. They look like solid tractors. The 1644 sounds like. Is it a 2wd or 4wd model?

for other old timers , in 1958 I ran John Deere Model 45 combines . My Boss was very proud of me when I broke both in one afternoon,combining soybeans !!! Fed one a rock, hit a buried rock and bent cutter bar one the other one . Not bad for a 17 year old. Two row corn head, finished about 900 acres New Years eve!

It's amazing to see these good old power still running, here in France (or Europe generally) you can't see as big tractor, old like new (because of the road size, only running Quadtrac or JD RX). You're awesome, thanks for all your videos and happy new year !

Well dang. We just returned a really tight all original (except for the seat and very few other small parts) 856 that we borrowed from a friend to run a module builder this year. Was definitely the straightest old red tractor I’ve seen in a long time that hadn’t been restored.

You weren't kidding about the Challenger 1000 series. Holy smoke, we rented one to prep a construction site and I could not believe the power and smoothness. Not only that, but it has so many features that we could not explore them all in the two weeks we had it on site. We pulled a tandem scraper so easily that I told the boss I could pull three if he wanted (probably not, but it sure felt like it) A real nice machine.

Love this video Jay. I really enjoy everything that you are and have done in the farming industry, everything from the videos to the toys you've helped create. Not much has really changed since we were kids farming on any piece of carpet we could find. On another note,PA Farms here on KZbin is in PA and is surrounded by what appears to be a wealth of Massey Combines. Might be some neat models to film out that way. Not to mention his collection of vintage tractors and equipment.

Thank you very much Noel. Great times in the 80’s watching Case 4wds at Kissels and Kohlman’s. You were the first person to point out the hood difference between a Case 2470 and 4690 to me. Great times also adding 1.64 dual wheels and chemical tanks but cutting up other tractors and Planters and attaching them with modeling clay.

bigtractorpower I've spotted a few Case tractors out in Oakfield, Alabama NY,even spotted a Case 90 series 4wd, don't see too many anymore so they're easily spotted. Maybe next visit we can road trip and track some down. Also alot of vintage 70's 80's agco iron out Perry and Pavilion way.

@TacoBellCustomerService7 жыл бұрын
Will there be Fendt and Massey versions in the states?
@farmingnodak7 жыл бұрын
The IDEAL combine is AGCO's new series of combines. I think there are Class 7,8 and 9s available. They will be branded as Fendt or Massey in the UK and as Challenger in the states, but really wouldn't be surprised to see Fendt and MF brandings here... for differences between brandings, I'd guess the Fendt might have more features, and the Challenger may be more "simple". www.agriland.ie/farming-news/is-agcos-latest-creation-the-ideal-combine-harvester/
@bigtractorpower7 жыл бұрын
The Ideal Combine is still a bit of a mystery for North America. I hope AGCO has one at the National Farm Machinery Show next month. Ideal is a South American Combine brand AGCO acquired in 1996 and rebranded as Massey Ferguson in 1997. I would say the main purpose of the Ideal is to bring a Class 9 twin rotor into AGCO to compete with the Claas Lexion that is sold by many CAT/Challenger dealers across North America.

My dad hired a guy with a IH 915 combine but the IH engineers were not thinking much about wet fields,,, so with its small tires it was getting stuck too often. I don’t remember it having many problems though. We had IH and Farmall tractors: Super C, 460 narrow front and 460 wide front, 656 utility low profile, 826 Hydro Demonstrator, 986 and 3388 2+2. I think I was 7 or 8 when I first drove a tractor. My first time out on public roads I didn’t see the lady in a car trying to pass me on a gravel road and she nearly went in the ditch. I got to drive every tractor and operate many of the attachments. The farm was sold in 1981 but my dad gave the Super C to my oldest brother. The farm was 3 miles west of Racine Minnesota on the 2nd highest spot in Mower county. Two of my brothers are part of the group that runs the antique tractor show south of Racine Minnesota. The website is rootrivershow.org

Have you ever filmed a 8590 Massey Ferguson combine? They were rare and huge for their time. They held the title of the biggest rotary combine for a lot of years. We used to own one... It would have been a later version of the White 9700 that you have here...

I would really like to film an 8590. I spotted one in IL on the way to film the 9700. I have a great 8590 ad in my literature collection that shows a wall paper hanger rolling a big MF decal up over WFE. For a very short time there was a Massey 9720.

That International 815 only had 1200 hours on it because it broke down so often it would take 40 years to put 1200 hours on the POS. We had an 815 and I'm surprised you were able to get 4 continuous minutes of it working without a breakdown. Our local case ih dealer insists that if they brought back the 815 case would make billions in parts sales. We had the 815 and a Massey Super 92. The super 92 would do 75% of the harvesting while the 815 was broke down.

Did you go to the world ag expo in Tulare California. They say that part of California is not desirable but I beg to differ. Did you see those beautiful snow capped mountains 🏔 what a neat place to live

Try to find a John Deere CP690 cotton harvester and a John Deere 8960 with the N14 Cummins diesel. Another I would like to see would be a Fendt Vario tractor.
@bigtractorpower7 жыл бұрын
I have an 8960 on film. It would be great to film a Fendt and a CP690

Would be cool to see a few more older Massey Ferguson combines like the 750/850 and 760/860 combines.

If I can find them I would film them for sure.

They are hard to find for sure, I know of a bunch sitting in the weeds but not any in operation.

Well I know I never hear anything about Texas but if y’all ever in my neighborhood there’s a lot of old history still ripping up earth down here. There’s an old boy by Robinson Tx that still runs a pristine Oliver 2655, down the road in Burlington Tx there’s another ole boy that only runs White and has a clean fwd Field Boss, in this same community you will also find a International 4586 high hr I’m sure but still cultivating and chasing, all machines are vital to these farms and can be found working every year.

I'm located in Sterling, IL and work seasonally on a farm that uses exclusively Ford/New Holland equipment including a TW30, T8 series, TG series, T9 series tractors as well as a CR series combine. If you're up this way, feel free to drop me a line and I'll see what I can do to get you out there to take some video!

I have my neighbor that has Ford tractors in the tw model an he has a few other Ford models as well an I believe another neighbor has the white silver tractor still in his barn an another farmer a few extra miles away has or did have the international 4wd that you had shown in the last part of your video I'm not sure if another farm that I know of still has the big new Holland 4wd that was also shown in the later part of the video .all of the people I know of are right close in proximity of each other here in central Indiana.
