Great advice- I used to waste so much time researching EVERYTHING, and quite often wouldn't list right stuff away and would end up researching again months later. 100 listings priced pretty good is better than 10 listings priced perfectly.

Thank you for this whole new perspective! I’m the research and tailor and milk the price guy , so this helps greatly. Give things a more standardized look and a real store aura with the uniformity vs the boutique pricing

Pricing our items is always the hardest thing to do with whatever you are selling, wondering if you have underpriced your item for it to sell in no time. Then on the other side, overpricing it when your item just sits unsold for weeks or months. Always the giver of great information with wanting nothing in return. Thank you so much, Don. Such excellent advice! I’ve come into a lot of greeting cards, post cards, cigarette cards, paper dolls, and so on. I’m spending a ton of time to research. I do enjoy the research as I learn but at some point I need to list and move on. Thanks for sharing.

Such great information, Don. I realize I've spent WAY too much time looking up every single item instead of using a standardized pricing module. Thank you:)

I like the concept but I do pretty much all clothing what I worry about is there is a huge difference between a $15 shirt and a $25 shirt and I really worry about over pricing the lower value ones and them sitting forever. I know many people do price buckets like 15, 25, 35, etc or 18, 24, 28 I just feel like for clothing Specifically it’s gonna take a long time to get there. About a year in, and I know that I waste the majority of my time researching items but two or three dollars difference in price can take you right out of making the sale.

Oh you are SO right. When I first started selling some mag ads I looked them all up. Wasted time it seems, but now I have a sense of what the average is for most date ranges Thanks a bunch.

People spend so much time asking the value of stuff, worried they're going to under price something by $10-20. They don't realize they're costing themselves much more than that by going on Facebook, trying to squeeze every cent out of every item. A lot of my items, I list at what I "think" is the right price, and lower the price by 3% weekly, send out offers, run sales, and such until it finally hits the price that somebody is willing to pay.

Another timely video. I have had the feeling lately that I have been spending too much time researching some stuff. CD's and DVD's for the most part do not need to be comp'd. I am just now learning this. Not sure I am good enough yet on something like books. I like your strategy of having a set price on some categories. Thank you!

Excellent video, this advice comes after a horrible day of research and only being able to do 2 drafts. I guess the fear of loosing money is what weights on me to much. But I will take your advice because it makes so much sense. Thank you.!!

Man that's a great point! I've got a extensive knife collection and spent countless hours researching value ! My eyes were bugging out for days lmao! Most were worth about the same .. not much lol I've decided not to sell .. but great example of how much Time you can spend on researching..

See I would be paranoid I let the big one got away. Did it once with large lot of Disney pins. Sold lot for 200.00 paid 20 but guy who bought them sold one for 600 and another for 250 and bunch of 60-70 ones. Just feel it was lesson learned.

Hi Don, I am 78 years old, I inherited a massive estate of coins, stamps, currency, fine jewelry....I am overwhelmed and don't know who to go to for pricing. Do you know of any experts in NE Ohio, who is honest, who could help me price?

If we have an opportunity to send out offers regardless of any other aspect we send them. We though have play room in our pricing structure on most all of our items.

As always, my deepest gratitude. I've been wanting to venture into more ephemera, but I never know just what the prices should be. I would spend hours researching, just trying to find the same item to compare, and just end up frustrated and not listing. I do pretty well with records, due to my love of music, but paper goods eludes me. Thank you for helping battle the demon of anxiety about this!
