These ecoboost motors are good to 350 bhp on stock internals. after 350 bhp they should be forged. im on pumaspeed stage 2 and been wanting to go stage 3 hybrid. when i do im keeping it at a safe 320-340 bhp. Pumaspeed have a forged 500 bhp 1.6 ecoboost in the newer mk8 shell and its an animal. The okes at pumaspeed know what they doing when it comes to this motor.

I have a stage 3 stock turbo fiesta and its a blast! 25mpg, ton of room in the back, it keeps up with a lot of v8's, reliable, handles amazing even out of the box, good brakes that bite hard, no torque steer AT ALL (big turbo fiestas do have it but an LSD fixes the problem), sleeper af nobody expects it to be quick.... Someone please name another car that can do all this for around $10k!!! I have about $1500 in mods including suspension and my car outperforms a lot of cars that are double the price sometimes even triple the price!!! For the money, the fiesta is a badass little car!!! Very underrated imo

Another motor thats fine with 400whp not HP so actually more is the W11 mini Cooper r53s 05-06 or 03-04 only in jcw form. Turbo swapping is what people tend to do 1.6 liter 16 valve putting in work

It costs a hell of a lot to repair and rebuild these boxes, parts are expensive. I had a 3rd and 4th gear failure that was about R30k to repair. If i could have swapped it for 600 Euro I would have.

@@MHBGT Ah, i hadn't noticed this was in south Africa, still, 1500 euro for a gearbox rebuilt, absolutely insane, i'm getting a new one just because mine has 130 000 km on it, and pumaspeed will send you one with less than 20k miles on it and a limited slip diff which is shimmed and everything for like 1250 euro, maybe a bit more if you want something better than a quaife
