WE BLEW UP HIS 400bhp FIESTA ST2 💀 - WAS 30psi OF BOOST TOO MUCH?! 🚗💨

The plan was to show you ‪@Having-a-go‬’s 402bhp Fiesta ST and to lay down some 0-60 times with the dragy box. The turbo had other ideas though 🤦🏼‍♂️

I'm not surprised. They've said that 400bhp is the maximum the little 16 hundred will cope with without needing racing pistons. I would've played it safe and set my limit to 350bhp.

Not really, it's not like they aren't able to stop you at the limit of grip, only when you take that car to the track and completely heat soak them then yes

was gonna say it's definitely gonna need a block mod and stuff to be running 400 but even still I think that turbo maybe doesn't push that far. probably look to upgrade to something like a G25-550 to push into the 400s as most of them are only rated for 350 or 380 max

What was the outcome then? Cracked liner or head? Or was it just turbo failure? Sounded like it was misfiring afterwards

You’ve got to get a BOV! The backward thrust from the turbo flutter is eating up the leading intake edges of the forward main bearing retainer. That wears turbos out four times faster when charge air has nowhere to go on deceleration. This accumulates over time, until you go out and show it off! That’s not because of 30 psi, it’s because the turbo has been self destructing every time you chuckle at the sound of that flutter. Too bad it sounds so cool, if it sounded like the destruction it truly is, you’d cry any time you heard flutter. Unless you just like to work under your car a lot, let it tweet!!!

This is not a 400hp fiesta with a x57r I had a fiesta with ungraded fuel cambs and upgraded injectors and only made 383hp on stock engine and mine last very well till I swop it for fully forged engine and went for x58eve2

@@x58evo2puma7 thats mad, my goal is 400+hp when im going to forge it but Just ordered the x58 and quickspool manifold going to run it on pumas med boost which makes around 360to370bhp they said. Thats their recommended map for stock dngine so

@@x58evo2puma7 I wonder how it compares to the g25-550 in turbo lag, gonna try a awd swap with some ecosport parts and hoping to go around 450-500hp, but turbo lag might just make it quite hard to utilize all that grip
