Big Turbo VW GTI First Start Up After Rebuild

After months of working on the GTI inside and out, we finally come to the point where we can start it up and see if it runs! First we register the GTI to tune with Maestro and then take it outside to see it run.

Prob should have cut fuel aswell. Spraying fuel while spark is gone can warsh the cylinder of its oil film.

ecu was fried because of common issue on these cars. the rear o2 sensor wires rub on the body of the car and short circuit the throttle pedal circuit in the ecu. unplug that rear o2 and code it out

Yea, I've heard a bunch of the o2 short circuit issues...But in this car, the rear o2 was actually coded out and cut off a year ago when I got the Stage 2+ ecu. Not really sure where to look to find the exact source, wouldn't want it to happen again though.

Is it just me or is $500 an insane amount to pay to flash ur ecu? Where I live there's plenty of places that will make custom maps on a dyno or load pre existing ones onto ur ecu for anywhere from €100-350, mind you these are normally diesel and I don't have much experience with petrol.

Omar Lekphet it’ll take readings from the O2 sensor and adjust accordingly

Yes it did idle better. It’s possible it could be a faulty MAF. We’ll be looking at the logs and testing other MAFs to confirm.

@@VdubInParadise I have the ABS/TC on as well in my Jetta. I got codes for a front left wheel speed sensor as well as ABS hydraulic pump, Not sure what one it is. went to attempt to change the wheel speed sensor and that b*tch is basically cemented on couldn't even get it off.
