@@ThomasShelby-uq8cz i owned 2 evl 12's and a 3500 watt skar amp. The subs were supposed to hold 1250rms each. Even in a Skar box and everything installed correctly, the subs were loud but never had a quality sound. They always had a thud in them no matter how the amp was set. Swapped amps to lower power. Made adjustments to no avail. They were new. I talked to my local installer and told him all of this and he said as a professional installer for years, he said that's why they earned the nickname Skarbage. I believe it now. Loud at a low price and lacking in quality. I had 2 PR 15's that were only 350rms each and pissed my buddy off because his high wattage Skar system was no louder. Anyway, each to their own.

Skar has never done me wrong with customer service. Had an issue with a 6x8 and no questions asked sent a new one was here in 2 days. Just ordered 3 amps and all are on the way. So far so good.

My own experience with Skar's customer service has also been very good. I had a question about obtaining part they normally don't sell and they responded promptly to my question during the work week. Part of why I now own 2 EV12 shallow 12 subs being powered by a LP-750.1D amp!

@@robskee4922 no I don't mine gets warm like any amplifier normally does but they shouldn't get to hot to touch. If it's getting really hot you might wanna double check the ohm load and gain settings these amps do require at least good quality 0gauge cable and at least an auxiliary battery. I run mine pretty hard but I've also got double runs of 0gauge and two auxiliary batteries plus 320amp alternator cause I plan to upgrade to the Rp 3500 eventually

I wish I would've read this before I bought 2 meso 8's from them. I made a purchase on November 2 and had to get in contact with them because they still hadn't shipped two weeks later. They said it was a "glitch" and shipped out right away after the initial contact. I ended up getting 1 dual 2 ohm and 1 dual 4 ohm sub, which I ordered 2 dual 2 ohm subs. Contacted them again and they say they don't know how it happened. Still waiting on them to see what they're gonna do and it's November 25th! I think when this is all sorted out, I'll be done with CT sounds! Also, never trust a company that you cannot call and talk to a live person. All you can do is message CT Sounds. Resolutions take way too long this way

First off I’ve watched a ton of your videos and they are great. Right to the point and show us what we are buying. Love it. I’ve learned far more than I thought I knew. I’m trying to set my sons car up. We currently have 2-12” infinity reference series 300rms speakers. We started with a low budget amp which we quickly found out does not push what it says. Could you possibly direct us to a budget gem to handle these? I’m not sure if I need to match them exactly at 300 rms or over shoot them a bit. I just had my first failure on a skar product today. And I wouldn't even call it a failure. A VVXv3 10" just had the surround split open a bit. And that's amazing because this sub has been getting nearly double it's rated power for over 2 years. The woofer still works and the voice coil appears to be in perfect condition. I'm going to wait and just get a recone from psi when they start taking orders again. But I can't express how well both Skar and their products have treated me and my friends for the past 3 years. I love their products and their company.

Upgrading from a very budget ignite 4000(1000)watt amp which has honestly been an absolute tank for over a year at .8 ohm for short bursts needless to say it gets hot ........ quickly . Just bought this amp off Marketplace. Guy said he only had it for a month. The amp looked so small when he handed it to me. Since I already had seen this Dyno video I purchased it. Got it running 2 12's Kicker L7's in a Kicker ported box only at 2 ohms(1400 rms + more. I did Big 3 upgrade) and it's hitting hard. Never cut off. I ran it for the better part of 3.5 hours. I'm good for a minute. Just got to get the RP-150.4AB for the high's ftw!

I also got a refurbished Skar 2000. I ended up not even hooking it up for 2 years because it didn’t fit where I wanted to put it. These dynamic tests have to be some kind of joke. Derrick from Sundown said they are pointless tests and I’m thinking he was right. After 2 years I decide to sell the amp. Hooked it up real quick to make sure it actually worked and I was extremely disappointed to hear that my Rockford p1000x1bd not only made my subs hit harder, but the subs also just sounded better than with the Skar RP2000.1. Rockford costs more, no arguing that. But, you get what you pay for. My 1,000 watt RF that costs $400 is better than the refurbished $180 ($240 new) Skar 2000 watt amp and it’s not even close. Can’t wait to hear what the Rockford T1500x1bdcp that I just got sounds like. No doubt it’ll make that cheap Skar even more pathetic.

Skar has great customer support but after what they put me through idk if i can trust their products again. I ordered a couple 500 watt rms 15's hifonic brutus budget subs yes and a q bomb box massive clacking which is audible clipping. Thought it was the cheap subs so returned them and stepped up my game to the high end NVX 15's cea rated true 1000 watts rms each and still the same noise. Going back to when i got the amp i had to take it apart soon as i got it i heard metal rolling around inside and back in the day i had a hifonics amp did the same was a bead of solder in the skar amp it was a screw. Sent the amp back explaining what i had done breaking the void sticker on the bottom to skar over the phone they gladly took it back. Bought a punch 1000x BD and happy i did but the power i see off these skar amps for the price point makes me drool! Keep in mind the punch will do .5 even though not recommended and may cut the amps life in half maybe less but fosgate is built this amp @ 1 ohm does 1501 watts i'd love to see a dyno at .8 and .5

CT sounds had their.. 7000.1? poorly manufactured with little to no care taken for supporting the middle of a LONG board. It would flex even in the most braced circumstances and fail well within warranty. CT sounds blamed the user to get out of the problems they caused, and now A LOT of people know them for the lack of professionalism.

I accidentally ran mine at .4 for a few hours it didn't care up until it turned on protect for temperature i also run cmax lithium so I was at 15.5 volts any higher than 15.8 it protects and just creates more heat than power so been a very good amp for me

How this with one 15" sub??...I'm doing a budget system in my future show truck ...sucks with a standard cab 4x4 not much room to play with . ..running bucket seats so that took out room running two 12"s.. had one friend telling me make a center console and run one 12 out the back and the other pointing down to the floor ..... but I was thinking run making the center console and run the 15" point to the back to the cab wall .. old school technique backfiring. To get the strong bass...planing to run 8" subs in the doors and 5-6" mids with 3" tweeters?...please let me know what u think .

You're missing one thing, the booklet. The wiring diagram shows using one inner and one outer terminal for 2 or 4 ohm loads. Also shows using the outer 2 terminals for 1ohm.

Well... Memphis is usually solid gear... BUT there is a LOT of options between the Skar the Memphis Price wise... and I don't think anyone considers Memphis as the best in the business at this point. I think there are better options than the Skar for close to the same money... and there are WAY more options than the Memphis...

Im unsure wether or not the more expensive amps are so much more costly for a great reason, or if there are better alternatives with close the same caliber & quality. The guys basically told me I needed at least the Memphis sixfive series 2200.1d to get closer to full potential. But I would really like to find an alternate solution that would get me at or around the same upgrade in power and quality, but not be so costly. I'm not sure if I needed to pay such big bucks to get there, or if there were a couple suggestions on amps that could do around the same power without having to sacrifice quality and longevity. I have a Memphis Mojo 15 XD2. My current amp sounds great don't get me wrong, but if I can get closer to the full potential of my speaker that would be awesome. Do you think the Memphis six five series amp is all they say it is and more, or will I not see such a noticeably major difference if upgrading through that route or another ?

@@troyplummer7110 I love my 2 xfl 12s. The ohm load will need to be based off of the amp you choose. With the skar you'll need dual 4ohms and wire them parallel for a final 1ohm load. Personally I went a different route and got the dual 2ohm and ran em @.5ohm on a audiopipe apcl1500.1d for about $160. This was because I've heard the apcl1500.1d is capable, but not rated at .5ohm, and after rise I was closer to .7ohm anyways. After about a year I upgraded my electrical and ordered another apcl1500.1d and left the subs wired in parallel and with my amps strapped it put me in the dirt at .25ohm, after rise .35ohm. And holy shit it was WAY louder my rear view mirror broke off, and radar detector wouldn't stay on the windshield. But I would never recommend anyone try and wire down to .25ohm because after about 6months of daily abuse 1 day I heard a weird sound coming from my hatch and when I looked I saw fireworks for a split second. 1 of the amps went up in smoke. Opened it up and all the mosfets were burnt, a cpl caps went as well. Was the $160 worth it for only 6months of the loudest stereo ive ever had, he'll yea it was!

How is the Bass sound quality on these amps compared to other more expensive amps? Is it still the "You get what you pay for" Rule? I Always spent the money needed back in the 90s but it has changed so much mfg. going to Asia.

Hey Ryan, so now that you got the big boy amp dyno how accurate are the readings you were getting using the AMM-1? I have used mind in dyno mode to a subwoofer or subwoofers instead of a dummy load. So just wondering how accurate the thing is.

Ryan Blankenship Yeah, disappointing for sure. I'm still looking for amplifier upgrade from the Skar 2k. It may end up being the RP-3500.1. Looking at the guts, there's no reason it shouldn't put out solid numbers.

i purchased this amp. Gentlemen at the audio store installed it and it was not turning up with out clipping i have a stock alternator / stock battery . The gentlemen said i need another battery for the trunk.. Can i just purchase a yellow top and install it to the car engine and run it off of that?

You need power to make power. If you have a weak electrical system your going to destroy the amp. You need around 150 to 200AH of batteries (AGM, Lithium would be less AH) and a big three done in at a minimum to run this amp

They make great stuff, the only issue is theres no cliplight on the bass nob, thats a pretty big problem, even if they put out more then rated power.

I told skar my sub had a slight scuff on the surround on the dual 12 evl loaded enclosure they sent me another brand new entire unit subs and box and said keep the first one . I couldn't believe it but it happened also with harmony audio I bought a dual 12 ported box and the subs recess where they mount there was about a 1 inch chip right there harmony sent me a new box I got in 3 days and they also said I can keep the first box .

I have a serious question out of curiosity. What is the longevity of these amps? I’m currently running a Hifonics amp and I know they are tossed around verbally both in a good and bad light. It has served me well for about 2 years even in a heat index of 112 degrees! It will need to be pulled soon.
