At the risk of repeating something that was already being said, there are 3 possible endings depending on how good your campaign score is. This one is the best one. If your score is low enough, ... ... the entire ending will remind you that you survived, but the future is going to be grim, and the entire sub-sector will still suffer from the Tyranids infestation for centuries or millennia to come. There might also be an in-between ending if you did well but didn't achieve max score.

This game capsulates everything that is the male fantasy: defeating an intergalactical menace as a group of brave space marines, saving and preserving COUNTLESS lives in the process, fly into the sunset as unsung heroes as the main fleet decimates the threat into nothingness. You were one from the many, but what you did is extraordinary. More games should make you feel like this.

Luckily for us, the eye is just the biggest gate to the warp but not the only one. Also, you're empire is mostly dormant, I'm sure we'll have already conquered the cadian gate before you arrive... But I guess that we'll see wich gods claim the galaxy first, won't we, soulless automathons?

I actually thought the story would have been much better if it ended in tragedy for your squads, like when you get the objective kill as many tyranids as possible at the end. It would have made the story much more epic if everyone sacrificed themselves to win and you go out killing hundreds of tyranids. They could have done new people for Chaos rising or something
