Honda Civic Tie Rod End Replacement 2006 (2006-2011 Similar). In this video I show how to replace the outer tie rod ends on a 2006 Honda Civic. Replacing the tie rod ends on a 2006-2011 Honda Civic should be similar. The exact vehicle in this video is a 2006 Honda Civic EX 1.8L sedan.

Big Dog, hello. Just discovered (and subscribed) to your channel - watched a handful of your excellent videos. It is some of the very best automotive information and maintenance instruction on KZbin. I have 2 Honda’s in the family fleet of 4 cars that I take care of, so I look forward to checking out more of your stuff. Thanks. -John (South Florida)

Was this car kept in California or the south? I dont see much rust and for anyone in the Northern part of the states they most likely will need a torch to loosen the jam nut. You're very lucky it didn't need much effort over the wrench you had! I like you're videos among the best as no annoying music or drum beats to distract from the mechanic lesson!

I've used Moog tie rods for the exact same car. Moog stabilizer links too. They're holding up fine after a few years. Yes, a bit of a pain to grease them every oil change, but okay for the cost saving.

Hi Big Dog, as always, great video; very helpful. Any tips on how to loosen a seized jam nut? My shop wouldn't complete the alignment because of this and suggested I could loosen it myself, then bring the car back for alignment.
@BigDog50001
@BigDog50001 3 жыл бұрын
Putting a generous amount of penetrating oil on the nuts/thread areas, tapping (gently) with a hammer and then gently trying to move nut back and forth with two wrenches to get it to move can help loosen them (don't apply too much force right away or the nut will round off). Might have to take your time and do this over several days if really bad.

Man you have a beautiful set of tools. They all look brand new and shiny. Its hard to tell if you're advertising or if someone can have such a beautiful clean set up like yours. They all shine like fine jewels. One thing is for sure, wherever your're working at, you're definitely not in the Northeastern part of the USA thats for sure. Everything over there is nothing but a big old huge rust bucket. How do you maintain your tools that way?
@BigDog50001
@BigDog50001 2 жыл бұрын
I don't live in a rust area anymore thankfully, I live in the desert now and I just wipe my tools off after using them, nothing special. I don't take advertising money or free tools from anyone either, everything you see was paid for. Many people who watch my videos like to see what tools I use so I make it a point to show them when I can. I have extra lighting installed for making videos and that does account for some of the extra shine on tools.
