Lots of old eighth gen Civics out there to maintain. They're great cars. My own 2006 has 300k km (186k miles) and is still going strong in harsh a harsh winter climate with lots of short trips and city driving. No end in sight and has never let me down.

They are good little cars. Thanks for the input!

Thanks for another great video! My cruise button just went out at 208k miles. Had to wedge a dime on top of the cruise button for a 1.5 hr drive just now. Part has been ordered though! Thanks for helping me maintain my beloved Civic!

Thanks ,, big help for tackling this cruise control replacement . Biggest challenge is getting the screws behind the steering wheel out. But really thats just adjusting the steering wheel to get at them ...Oh and good call on the 3 min wait after you disconnect the battery !

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Did this yesterday. Biggest problem I had was the four screws on backside of steering wheel. They are in a weird angle and hard to get head of screw driver on. Also for anyone doing this you can turn the steering wheel to a get better angle.

My 2008 Civic with 325k miles has this exact problem, for what the part cost I'll probably hold off on replacing or look for a pick and pull part. Great video though, very clearly shown.

What you mentioned at the end regarding the extractor socket, isn’t that 10mm extractor to big to even fit into the hole where the t30 screw is, looks like it to me. Thanks

Can you reuse the airbag assembly screws if you reapply some thread adhesive? I’m assuming that is the only reason Honda calls for their replacement.

When it comes to safety devices like an SRS system, I will always stick to what Honda (or the manufacturer) says.

Great video, I have a 2008 Honda Civic Ex and when I use my turn signals my hazards also come on. I check all my fuses and lights bulbs and everything is in good working order. Would you happen to know what could be my issues? I was trying to find a relay for the hazards/turn signals but can not find the location of one. Thank you

Thank you for the video ... very well done ... I would like to know a technical information. My Cruise Control doesn't work the same as in the video! In my Honda Civic 2009, I only have the right Cruise control and not the left one, if I put the same suggested in the video? will this work? What do we do next for the radio code? Thank you it is appreciated
@WhiteKestrell4 жыл бұрын
You should be able to get the cruise-only side. I know you can add the audio side but I think a wire or two must be added to the connector. I'm not sure. The EX and Si trims have both cruise and audio controls. As for the radio code, just put the code in and that's it. If you don't have the code, hold 1 & 6 then press power and you'll get a number. Call Honda and give them that number and they'll find the code.

So my husband said not to worry about the radio code since I don’t use the controls on my steering wheel but now my radio won’t work at all. Can I put the code in now? Any idea how I can fix this? Thanks!

Hi I have a 2008 Honda Civic Ex and when I use my turn signals my hazards come on at the same time. I check all my fuses and light bulbs but no luck. Would you happen to know about this issue and the fix thank you.
@BigDog500013 жыл бұрын
Both of those are input signals to the Multiplex Integrated Control Unit (MICU), which is what controls the lights (the gauge control module/instrument cluster also plays a role). The MICU is the fuse/relay box under the dash and is basically a "smart" fuse box. The MICU/circuit is probably going to need some troubleshooting based on your comment.

Will the Honda Combination Switch 36770-SNA-A12 that you linked to Amazon work on a 2010 Civic EX? Amazon says it doesn't but it looks exactly the same. Thank you so much for video!

Yup the A12 is for 06-08 models only. It should be the SNA-A11 or the SVA-A41, did you find out by any chance?

I just jammed a penny into the slot on mine. It's super ghetto, but it only cost 1 cent to fix. Super annoying how this is such a common failure point on these Civics, along with the rear door actuator, and AC compressor.
