@@jonavuka Nah, that's just a normal tactic in bullet matches when you're up on the total score since there is an overall time allotment for the matches. However it came back to bite him when Alireza started winning. I'm not a fan of Hikaru btw, just clarifying why they do that.

Wow. Alireza's ability to throw some insane counterpunches to combinations in the blink of an eye really amazes me. He frequently sees some in-betweener or sequel that either spoils the opponent's tacticts or lowers their full effect by leading to as active a position as possible. Incredible eye.

Mind you, I wrote that immediately before that game (towards the end, when the match was around 7-7) when he gets a Bishop and a Knight forked by a pawn and not only manages to get out of the fork but to also emerge a piece up in the endgame, LOL. Edit: it was Hikaru 7-6, starting at around 23:30.

Exactly! If he wants the WC in classical he should improve his skills instead of playing bullet. Btw. Magnus is still a level higher in bullet which their head to head score on Lichess.org shows very clearly. So Alireza please concentrate on playing REAL chess instead of wasting your time on bullet. @@Twins-np2jz well for starters, world champion for me is Classical format. And he is still far from caruana/carlsen. Carlsen is still very young and much more experienced. If you compare carlsen vs firouzja at the same age carlsen was a bit better (then again very little classical chess being played atm). Also there are always new players coming up strong (though firuzoja is the strongest since carlsen/caruana). So your window to be te world champion isnt that long (prag is coming strong). In anycase, all i'm saying is he has a chance, but people talk about it like its just a matter of time and thats too much. IF we are talking blitz/rapid i'd say he will be at some point or another , especially because of the format.
