Hey Kim. I just wanted to tell you about classroom.booksource.com. My CT uses it and it's the same as the library program you're using. It also scans and does the printable barcodes, but it's free!

im not in school to be a teacher but I find this so interesting to watch. I'm literally soo happy that people like you exist and are going to be spreading your love and light and knowledge onto others. I really wish you were my teacher when I was younger lol but I'm so happy for you and for your journey and excited to see where you go from here. sending lots of love also one thing that my teachers did through out the years of education was giving us bonus points if we brought in tissues or expo markers so maybe try to do that. another thing my teachers did through out the years that I remember enjoying was white board work and we all got a tiny white board and could answer questions on it so if thats not on your list id recommend maybe getting them bc its an interactive way to gauge what students know and theres just something about writing on a white board that I feel like everyone loves.

If you are doing a lot of stapling you should look into getting a staple gun. It's so much better than a regular stapler. I asked for one for Christmas a few years ago and I love it! It makes stapling on my bulletin boards so much easier. You will love the wireless doorbell. It's great for when students are doing group work and you need to get their attention.

I few book recommendations that I feel would really add to your library are; The boy in the girls bathroom, Holes, Goodnight mister tom, this is an amazing book based in London in WW11. It would make for a great class read. I know when I was in school we read it and I loved it! I still to this day believe it is my favourite book ever.

I have done tables of four so that I can say "turn and discuss with your shoulder partner..." and then each person has a partner. In the even that someones absent, a table of three is able to easily have a discussion too! Love your videos!

I know this was uploaded a week ago, but I hope you still see it. The larger bookshelf try to put it in the middle of the smaller ones, and sticking READ on top of it, and put a few books on top like showing them off like you have in the thing by the couch.
@jaimebh306 жыл бұрын
I think the bookcase will look great in the spot that you have in your classroom. I think you would love Early Edventures channel and she is a 2nd year teacher in 4th grade. She has videos about her classroom setup and teacher tips videos.

I would put the tall bookshelf on the same wall as your other ones, I’d have the tallest first and then the smaller ones next to it just move the couch down a little :) I love your vlogs!
@jordanac70416 жыл бұрын
Can you shift everything down along that wall, so that your tall bookshelf will be the first shelf from the door. That way your bookshelves are together? Just an option. You will have a great year!

I think that tables of 4 would be best for two reasons : 1) someone always feels left out and 2) when you want the kids to work in partners or groups of 2, one person won’t have a partner.
