I was in Varanasi where thousounds of pilgrims gather everyday to the holy river, Ganges. I guess I was surprised that every evening, a big ceremony will be held for an hour or so. We were sitting in boats watching the ceremony and apparently that’s more or less for the tourists. I also think that’s where I realized the size of religion in India. They take it extremely seriously. It was very memorable.

Hitler was influenced by the Aryan Invasion Theory which in itself was made (falsely) to keep the proud Indians under an inferiority complex, that they were too backward. The Nazi Swastika (which is a slanted mirror image of the Swastik symbol commonly used in India) terrorised the world rather than bring good luck and keep away bad elements.

What makes your vlog unique and interesting compared to other foreigners who have captured India in their lens . You are living in India like Indians and trying to understand India from inside out. . You are not here for spiritual uplift or yoga alike. You are just here because you find it economical and satisfying to your needs. Also because I think you have taken upon yourself to prove India as an alternative long term destination. You won’t find many westerners with this view of India’s exploration. . You are trying to find good and common ground among unique challenges India imposes on you. That is itself a challenge and requires very open mindset. Westerners mostly come from higher standards of living and won’t yeold easily for newer experiences that come on hard compromises. . I think you are geneuielly curious person and that is great :-) . May be you can explore this as a business opportunity to help settle westerners in India who have similar mindset. Good Luck! 👍🏽🍀

1) Why Indian stare at you: This is because most of people (Not every one) not used to see foreigner here...thats why staring at you with curiosity. Its like when you see Tiger or something, and you staring at him. (Its a basic human mentality) 2) Why Indian is obsessed with skin color (Not everyone but some): Total credit goes to British...When they were here, they always discriminated Indian with skin color and we were second citizen in our own country. famous example was When "M Gandhi" in south Africa he trowed out from train's first class by British due to skin color. Skin Color never been matter in India till British Invaded India but after that some people have some misconception about skin color. After 70 year that still exists and its bitter truth. I know..

So if you ever travel by train ....people can make you thier friend or even a family member ....that is really intresting ...well there are so many these kind of gestures fading by time ....but there are so many things like this ... which i experience in my childhood , i still remember a train trip , where my family including my mother , my 2 younger brothers and me , were traveling and a mother-son was also going to almost the same destination ,till arrive my mother and that old lady and his son were talking constantly ,about family background and all, just like relatives, and after we reached the station , we all catch the same bus and the shocking thing which i can't forget whole life was that " they pay our fare just only behalf of that 4-5 hours of communication" they were 2 person and we were 4 and how strangers can even have this much Affinity.... this was even a cultural shock for me just travel to another state...so I just wanted to share my experience to you , hope my words justify my experience...love from Delhi , I wish you will also feel this Affinity in India....🥰🥰☺

If an American gets stranded in the wilderness and gets a nature call, he will intuitively use a squat toilet in the open...even if he had never heard about India. 😂 It's back to first principles Mr Jenks! Mumbai and other such metropolitan cities.....u would interact with people from different states of india...and from each one would get to know some new tradition. But the true essence of the indian culture lies in the small cities.....and the small cities have the best natural enviroment unlike the big ones having concrete buildings and lots of traffic, pollution etc.

Well done Benjamin. With regard to "Swastika" according to Sanathana Dharma (Hinduism) it represents SUN and also it is a symbol of knowledge, wisdom, superior living and power. Adolf Hitler of Nazi Germany was well read and was fascinated by the Indian culture, Vedas and Upanishads. As a result he not only took up vegetarianism but incorporated Swastika as a symbol of "Superior Aryan Race" into his party and the Third Reich. Keep up the good work. All the best. bsn.

1. We need to stop honking. That is really a bad habit. 2. Somehow I don't agree. Many people wear dirty clothes and live in unhygenic conditions. 3. Yes, the population is concentrated in overcrowded cities. 4. I thought that everywhere in the world it worked so ( locating in reference to some famous landmark). 5. Western toilets are the norms these days in India. 6. That is because people in the interior villages are surprised to see someone very different. Most of them have not seen a human who doesn't look brown. 7. No idea why the f***ing Nazi bustards used our swastika. 8. It is fine to eat with hands provided hands are washed and nails are trimmed. 9. Staring is definitely rude. People ask about your income since many people think that everyone in west own a Ferrari and lives in a luxurious villa with a personal tennis court and swimming pool. Frankly even I thought that everyone in the USA was living as lavishly as portrayed in the Hollywood movies before hitting the real world.

Very well explained! People stare you as most of these people haven't seen white men in their entire life and mostly these guys are innocent and mean no harm to you. Mostly white people are celebrities in remote places and you would be given all love and respect however people wont stop looking at you ! Again welcome to India and hope you settle well for lifetime and make this your country. One more thing, dont be surprised when small kids call you Uncle to address you. It's a way that kids are being told that every elder is either a brother or uncle or grandpa as per their age. People in India are being taught "Vashudeva kutumbkam" means whole world is your family. However in modern cities people call by Names these days.

Actually , humble behaviour of almost all indians is only for foreigners especially for white people, bcz often they are not used to see many white people and are curious to know about them ( as you already know ) and that is genuine. but behaviour of indians towards indians is not what you think . it's full of ego/arrogant especially when anyone is rich or become richer. they treat poor like they should not be here ( not applied on all but mostly ). as i born here so i have already experienced such things. if your only purpose to travel here and explore things then it's ok but if you decided to live here then it's a horrible idea.
