@carychiasson98343 жыл бұрын
I am trying to get the parking lot done at my church. I normally wash the windows. I noticed that the lines were getting really bad. I have been reading up on how to paint them. I can't afford a machine. I do have a very long pole that I use to reach the windows when I am washing them so I will put it on the four inch roller and pray I can get it done. I just saw how someone did it with putting two pieces of 2x4's next to the lines and painted it that way and it came out really good. I don't know what I am doing I am going to strive to make it look good. They love my work when I wash windows, and I learned on youtube. Not going to do the job until the new year. I am searching out where I can find the paint. I found some paint that I can afford. The guy that I am supposed to report to said they couldn't get the paint, it was back ordered six months ago. I just found some paint at a store near me. It's professional grade parking lot striping paint. Says it dries fast and is built to last outside. I also know when I am supposed to do the job again. I am always learning. I wish I could afford a machine. I did see one of the machines that you manually push the button. When I was online people gave it bad reviews. This will be my very first time to do this. Maybe I could do this for a job if I do it and people like it. I always try to make things look better than I found them.

11hrs? My friend, Invest in a high speed angle grinded and a very good quality twisted strand, cup shaped wire wheel. Takes about 20 seconds a foot to remove paint.....or weeds... Or skin.... Well actually the feed rate more than doubled on skin.
@billydavidsonvip3 жыл бұрын
One time we spent nearly 8 hours as I stated in the video removing one parking line that was put down wrong on blacktop. On blacktop or asphalt you cannot use a high-speed angle iron whatsoever. On concrete it will definitely remove the top layer leave a shadow of paint penetrated into the concrete. It's really not the ideal way to remove a screwup or an old park in line there are better ways but none of them are easy. I've done it too many times LOL

Power wash it
@nickbrockelman3 жыл бұрын
@@billydavidsonvip on asphalt steam is king. there are 2 method which i have both used and they do a good job.. even better when used together....steam or close to it hot water out of a decent powerwasher, preferably the kind with the auto spinning head..... secondly (or in conjunction)pouring very hot water on the line and the heating it with one of those long wand style propane weed burners that sometimes they use to melt ice on sidewalks with. splash the line and the torchit. paint should peel right up just dont let the ALL the water evap from the pavement. it is not only there to make the steam but also protect the asphalt. on concrete use the grinder but dont stay on just the paint thus creating a line of negative space. you have to be a bit of an artist but what you want to do is degrade the entire area a little , like blending in paint on an autobody job. Of course steam could work for you here too depending on the age of the concrete but it works much better on the asphalt 'cause as you can sure you know it's made from oil. I have had several power washers back in my day they were powerful enough to take the top layer of concrete off fully cured stuff
