Remove suckers when they are a couple inches long and stick them in the dirt. Same with tomatoes. 1 plant can become many. 😊 happy growing

Yes, absolutely dirt or you could even put it in a mason jar with water. It will produce roots... Thanks for sharing with us always appreciated... Happy Friday gardening 🌱

I've had good experience with allowing the suckers to continue growing until they are long enough to root them. This provides the nutrition for the squash that grow from the suckers.

@@Greentgarden Any tips on what to do when the leaves go all white and papery (think it's called mildew)??
@GreentgardenАй бұрын
Mix 1 to 2 tbsp of baking soda in a gallon of water. Put it in a spray bottle and spray on the leaves on top and underneath. Do this in the evening....

Oh! Good to know! It’s my first time growing butternut squash and it’s vining all over and up my trellis. Is it too late to prune the lower suckers?
@Greentgarden Жыл бұрын
If there's no butternut squash on the Lower vines , remove some ... And 2-3 lower leaves.. This helps with good airflow , better growing process, better production and faster harvest

@Greentgarden Жыл бұрын
Try to get organic garlic from store or farmers market and yes growing in a container is perfect ,you could plant late September or early October ..

@@Greentgarden so what is organic garlic , the store always has the garlic by things like potatoes . and so on . thanks , i didn't know if the garlic would freeze above ground. ..

Try to buy from a local farm market , This way you get better quality.. .. The price is a bit more than the supermarket but it's more organic and fresh..

@@Greentgarden how do you support the fruit once they start getting heavy?
@chrisz.99747 ай бұрын
So should you leave only one main vine?
@Greentgarden7 ай бұрын
So normally I leave the main vine and I remove two to three lower side shoots ... I basically leave the top half the grow to get a bigger and faster harvest in less time

I have a good amount of space, would the produce more oy you just let them get huge or os is better to have multiple smaller plants?
@Greentgarden Жыл бұрын
So if you have space and you have a longer garden season like longer time, you don't need to prune it.. but if you have less space and you don't have much garden time I would say remove them.. If not, just let them run.. you will get more .. but just make sure to add more fertilizer , every 2 weeks as the plants start producing..
@elsancho-mx7om Жыл бұрын
@Greentgarden makes sense, maybe I'll split my Spaghetti squash next year and see what does better. I can really only grow from mid June to early September around 100 good growing days usually. Do you think that is long enough to let them go wild or keep them pruned with more plants. P.S. followed the tips you gave me for my watermelon and pumpkins and finally got some fruit. Sadly they more than likely won't reach maturity but I am just excited to watch them grow. First year gardening and either I'm pretty good at it or I just have great soil because the tomatoes, zucchini, corn, bean, multiple peppers, even a strawberry have done amazing.
