I love the idea of making sure the decision making and roles are simple and clear for the players.

Fantastic discussion on each topic. Culture does play a big part in how the game is played. I remember playing pick up games at the university. Usually, 6-10 different nationalities. Different styles and emphasis. Beautiful to see it all on one pitch. The discussion around US style and others was very relevant. I grew up in the early stages of US soccer. 35 years ago, I was blessed to have a coach who's son played semi-pro in Germany. We were taught a different philosophy than most American players in our region. I also appreciate the discussion about youth development... The most successful players will not advance simply on physical abilities, but their understanding of the game.

Everyone is talking about Tactics, Game models, but stripping the game back to its CORE , its about “ INDIVIDUAL TECHNICAL BASICS “ (often referred to Foundation base or skills, i think Technique is so much important at younger ages) : Here are 7 of my top 25 Tec Skills for (5-12 years) KEEPING IT SIMPLE!!! 1. Receiving the ball (Ball Control & Body shape 2. Dribbling and Running with the ball (using space ) 3. Turning in Diff Directions. 4. Striking a Ball (pass & shooting) 5. Beating an opponent 1v1. 6. Securing, hiding, shielding and Protecting the ball (from opponent). 7. Tricking opponents-tricks (Deception & disguise). Hope somebody finds this helpful…
