Have 94 OBS went mudding by myself...it was so much fun, it was like drifting on ice, had good traction with the Mud TA...285 75R16 stock rims with 1.5 inch wheel spacers (hubcentric). The G80 4;10 rear diff needs work we lost the posi spider gear...so its a one wheel peel

My 01 Ram dually does amazing in the mud. I have 35s and the 6spd in it. Hardy ever need 4x4 in it though. I'd like to find a nice older chevy with the 6.5 diesel in it though someday.

You don't need matching gears for fourwheel drive to work. You should certainly limit its use but i've ran an old toyota as my hunting truck for close to a decade with 5:13 in the rear and 373 up front with no issues as long as its only in the mud. On dry ground yes it would destroy some stuff.
