Why is a company asking for unpaid volunteers to build this game for them? 😂 I mean bruh..... Can i sell you this Mars dust i have in a glass jar? Its real, trust me. Also for that clip where my FPS dropped a stupid amount, it was due to the other player. I was following him while he was being chased by zombies and as I got closer, the game started going down in fps. He then crouched and was getting attack by that zombie for a good couple of seconds before I killed him, the moment he died, the fps went back to normal. The funny thing is I didn't even get to loot him because the bodies de-spawn very quickly, like you only got like 10 seconds to loot a body before it disappears with all the loot. The game is a mess. To pose a counter-argument to Asmon, I don't think that there is any way this game does not get removed from Steam. Logistically, the game runs off of servers which are not dedicated. Either the developer has a contract with a host for a certain amount of time which ensures the servers will stay up, or they are paying month to month or year to year. If the developer is no longer in the picture, those servers that they're currently paying for will cease to exist and will have no one managing them thus removing any ability to actually play the game (not that you can now anyway lol). They need to issue a refund to every player and Steam needs to remove this game from their store page immediately.

I think steam should at least do something to discourage developers from doing this. Because the game will still end up profitable it won't stop other from just doing the same. Spend a few thousands on bad ass trailers, sell some crap for millions. You have the right idea, offer 90 day refund, and once everyone has got their money back and when the developer takes a massive negative it will incentavise them to put out good products.

At around 5:08 you have a post about removing tags on the store page. Asmon's tone sounds like he thinks that is a shady action made by the devs. Those are the results of user applied tags gaining or losing popularity. The tags were never added by the developers (unless done through bot accounts, but I'd much sooner attribute it to natural misled fan speculation) and they aren't being taken off by the developers now.

I love how the featured game in the description reads: "Resident Evil 3"

Me not watching any stream or vid of the game launch- "It can't be THAT bad." *Zombie clip at the end plays* "Fuck..."

You know it's that bad when RadBrad titled it as the first game he has ever refunded

Before you buy a game. Look for reviews, look for gameplay on KZbin. Just generally never Preorder games, no matter what studio. This game could have also come from Bethesda/Blizzard-Activision/EA, etc. I wouldn't put it past them. Just never Preorder.

They are using the word scam to trash the game on how bad it is, everyone can refund it still. You never used steam before?

The number of red flags can't be counted. The signs were all there. Steam refund is great, I saw many got their money back even after playing more than 2 hours. Nice of them.

they intentionally drag out the beginning of the game so people would pass the 2 hour mark@@ChezMclegend

You're right, it shouldn't be up to us to do the research on the developers of the game. This falls solely on Steam. Steam should put in the work to vet these developers and their games before offering them in their store.

profits and revenue are two different things. Keeping a games studio open is very expensive, even if there are store bought assets. Also they had a publisher so that further muddies the waters. Honestly I bet they lost around 500k - 2mil...Also I am not saying this is a bad thing.

i disagree with the sunk cost fallacy for gaming in todays era of youtube videos, steam reviewing, twitch streams. No reason to spend any amount on any game when someone will make game reviews post them on youtube, a streamer will play it and you can watch gameplay in real time. The day before was on my steam Wishlist for 2 years, i saw the game get removed from steam due to the lawsuit, and it came back. When it released i then got home from work on the 8th and checked the steam revies, noticed it had overwhelmingly negative reviews and then didnt bother anything beyond that. I waited for it to get released and hoped that it would be good, but with how bad games have been in the last 5 years, no game is good and worth buying on day 1.

To be honest, even though I don't really care about "the day before" because I myself already suspected that the game would be a scam, I still hope that the game itself will at least be real, well deep down I still hope that the premise of a game like this will be real

I remember hearing of this game 2-3 years ago. I saw some people talking about it being shady af with the game being delayed so many times. Glad it's out so we can all avoid/ignore this disaster.
@toddtaylor650611 ай бұрын
The game's name alone is stupid. "The Day Before". You know what the day before a zombie apocalypse kicking off would be? It'd just be another day. Going by how bad this city looks (the level of abandonment) suggests we're not the day before anything but months if not years after it happened. With the lack of zombies, it suggests humans have actually won and are just killing off the last few zombies left.

They did not make any money. Steam holds on to the revenue for a month before paying out. Maybe they made a few bucks on people who did not refund it

Don't worry, give it 3 years and it will end up winning a Game award somehow, doesn't matter if it scams people during those 3 years if at the last second they come up with something 😂

I agree that every person who paid money for this is a clown like that picture. I cannot believe the amount of people who paid money for this and didn't refund a year ago. We are living in a world full of idiots that are fueling scams as a business.
