What a day for scrap metal recycling! I linked up with a friend for his first proper nonferrous scrap delivery and holy cow, I was not expecting what he rolled up in! Took care of that with a stellar result, and continued forward collecting scrap all over town. Big day!
Wire stripper I use: amzn.to/3sirg18
The motorized stripper: amzn.to/3y0JMuQ
The wire cutters I like: amzn.to/2T6j3OW
The grips I recommend: amzn.to/2QCJmYl
The melting furnace: amzn.to/3EGxT2q
(If you make a purchase on amazon through the links above, a small amount of what amazon makes on the sale is shared with me. It's a great way to help support my channel, at no additional cost to you. Even if you buy something other than my tool recommendations!)
Please like/share this video if you enjoyed it, and subscribe to thubprint!

Love the response to “can I help you?” I get the same question many times while out scrapping. If it’s some heavy lifting, I’ll tell them “why thanks for offering….. grab that side and I’ll grab this side” 😂lol 😂😂

I love your motto of "Leave it better than you found it"! !! I'll tell you a couple more that I have "borrowed " , Sign on Michael Burry's wall:- " I am the Master of my Fate and Captain of my Soul!" And 1 other :- Go Woke, Go Broke! " . At 66 I clippers my hair every 3 days at 0 setting, but once had hair to my belt at the back!

Another good video from your channel! Nice dig’s you got on too. I’m not in the biggest income bracket so I can’t afford to buy one(even w/the Ca/US conversions). But if I could it would be right up on my list to help support you & your whole gig. I wait patiently for you to release the vids every week. Glad your modo is “Leave It Better Than You Found It”! I actually have a little bug in my ear that keeps gnawing at me when I get my scrap to do the same. Hoping your truck gets back on the road soon so you can make more cash for the “Thub/Whub” team.

I'm still second-hand angry at your mechanic for your cat getting stolen. Like, suppose you'd entrusted it to them for only 1 day. They said they'd do the work, you drop off the truck, they do the work, you get it back the next day. Odds the cat gets stolen? Almost zero. But when they choose to not get around to it for months, and it obviously hasn't moved and no one's watching it for weeks, and they take their time with it... to me... that says, from the moment you dropped it off until you got it back, they were responsible for the condition of the vehicle. They want to park it on a public road rather than a locked yard? Those savings are on them, as is the risk. But none of this "Oh, we'll wait months, but meanwhile not be responsible while it's in our custody". Then do the work the same day and give it back.

I have been watching your videos for 2 years and I wanted to give you a heads up on a great video ( scrapitall) . The video was a great help and I went out to harbor freight and purchased a machete for $6. to try it. I did removed copper from 6 motors in 15 min. Please try it and pass it on I am 75 and a former toolmaker and saves me a lot of time. Good luck.

I had a set of 5 year old Michelin tires that looked brand new but with in 1 month I had 2 blow outs at 80 MPH (Trashed both my dually fenders) and a front tire got bubbles from rubber separating and belts breaking. I don't mess with that brand or used tires. lol
@thubprint

Oh man! I guess cheap tires are cheap for a reason? I’ll be sure to make the ad very cheap and very clear, not out here to mislead people. Thanks for saying hi!
@hoktang1
@hoktang1 Жыл бұрын
I learned that for tire even thought the look brand new they can go bad. Example for like spare tire are to be replaced when you replace your regular tires. The way tire go bad for not being used is. Threw the course driving the tires flex which cause friction causing them to heat up. So when the tire are used they stay malleable and soft. When you have then store not used they start to become stiff and brittle. Kinda like hard copper pipe and soft copper heat treatment. But unlike copper pipes you can’t heat tires up to make them malleable again.

Awsome video Thub. I wanna start bringing steel ect ect to Calgary. I have app 5 to 8 tons or so of mostly heavier steel. ( I save up at a couple metal spots on trips to Cranbrook) People give me funny looks when im loading up as they think its not worth much. I also save and strp my heavier copper wire with large motorized stripper. Only problem i have is i live in the Golden area so it costs a fair bit to haul. I used to ship to Kamloops and did quite well. Anyways have an awesome day 😀

Myself personally? Well when I have the truck I’ll do a treasure hunt and drop the steel roughly once a week, but outside of that I probably do a “big” nonferrous run 3-5 times a year. It really depends what kinds of pickups/finds I get, when I need to make some space I’ll haul it in
