In all seriousness, MC Speedrunning is such a high skill and luck based catagory and I respect everyone in the community, but the shit that happens to them is just the funniest thing ever. Playing through a game that wants you to think, build, and take your time, and then throwing that out the window leads to some hilariously preventable deaths if time wasn't of the essence.

I like how Couriway almost always gets the most unpredictable and strange situations during his speedruns. Hoglin falling from the sky on his head, unexpected lava, ""invisible"" creeper, piglin stealing a pearl, random stronghold, piglin suicide to zombie piglins by shooting them, magma slime falling on his head, The Food Deficit, random villagers in different places where they surely shouldn't be, the ghast one shot, wall-killer, wither skeleton-gigachad with the shield, getting unbelievable luck and unluck, enderman the snitch, gold blocks ascending, playing ping pong with ghast, enderman the snitch 2 (The enderman that teleported right on the pillar so Couriway looks in his eyes), the infinite lava death, hoglin the gold digger of the bastion, the gravel pranking couriway, the piglin battalion.

Now presenting: Dylan trying to escape a creeper with a trident enchanted with Channeling while it was thundering, because that causes lightning to strike down from the heavens upon anything hit by the trident, and specifically causes creepers to become charged, which allows them to drop their skulls. But he never gets that far, because he is inexperienced with the strategy and allows every one of them to blow up or be killed in various ways, leading to him giving up on the strategy in the end. What a tragedy!

So here's a quick statistics lesson: 1/2048 only describes the probability of this specific outcome for 11 trials, which sounds accurate on paper... but what we're looking at here is actually what is referred to as a "Geometric Distribution," where we're looking for the probability of *taking this damn long* to get the first successful drop. If p=0.5 and he's killed 11 shulkers, there's actually a 99.976% chance he'd have come across a shell by this point. This makes his odds of failing this miserably for *this long specifically* less common than a 1/4167 (0.024%) chance. needless to say, he is the antithesis of Dream luck.

Assuming he succeeds and gets the first success on the 12th trial, the chance of failing at least 11 times before is 0.024%. Because it's a 50% chance, the odds actually are easy enough to calculate by 0.5^k... but if the chances were any different you cannot assume that the rarity is equivalent to one specific outcome of a combination of k trials via the geometric distribution. You're not looking for the odds of a specific outcome, but rather the odds of reaching a first success by some trial.
