Oh gosh. I saw this fun funky film way back in the 80s when I skipped out from work more or less. I was a lowly clerk in a private accounting office who rarely got to leave my office. I had the rare chance of getting a business lunch with a client and after the lunch ended I decided to see a movie at the Mall where I'd just finished that lunch at Western Steer. I was young and playing hooky from work like I'd once done back in high school. Well. I saw this here film Biggles not knowing anything about it. I ended up having the best time enjoying and laughing and was even intrigued by the storyline. The bonus of it all was how I was still getting paid and my salary wasn't docked for that afternoon away from the office. Plus, that nearly sci-fi film, which it was in so many ways, forever stuck in my head for some reason...the title Biggles helped cement it into my brain. This is the first time I've seen it since so many years ago. I'm 62 now and retired but seeing this makes me feel young again. Thanks for bringing it to all of us to see again. It's a hoot and a half from my younger life.

I loved this! Biggles enjoying his special flying machine! What a lark! And neatly having the Fokker nudge it out of the timeline. The look on the Fokker pilot's face when it first 'chops' past him 😱. And the moments when Raymond and Biggles re-unite. Nostalgic background score too. Read all the Biggles books I could find in school, 1982-84. We avid boy readers would pass the books between each other and hold conferences in the Prep Room over each books and its characters. Biggles was extremely serious material to us. My personal favourite Biggles novel was The Cruise of the Condor, and his discovery of the little urchin Habblethwaite, whom he nicknames 'Ginger', in 'The Black Peril'. And of course 'Biggles Learns to Fly', my copy of which I bought at a Sunday pavement market in 1990 but only recently discovered was no longer with me. I'd really like to see a grimmer movie treatment of Biggles for there is quite a library of material on him, and a healthy cast of supporting characters. Thank you, Flick Vault!

Much of the desolated city building was filmed in Detroit. They saved a lot of money on sets. But was a fun movie. Well done old boy. Wish they made more of them.

Saw this in the cinema when it was released and loved it at the time. It seems a bit creaky watching it all these years later but still great fun to watch.

Just found your channel, have liked and subscribed. I never saw or heard of this movie until tonight through my older sibling. Back in 1986 I was a new mom and too busy with my growing family, but, happy I found it now and really enjoyed this movie. Too bad there were never any continuing stories to it, like Indiana Jones, or even a tv show based on the movie. Would have been fun to watch... Thanks for sharing.

This was one of those weird and enjoyable movies if you let the brain clutch slip a bit. Liked the scenes shot at the Shuttleworth Collection at Old Warden, as well the sound weapon testing on the same grounds used for the last portion of Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket movie. The Stampe aircraft that was modified with a gun turret was also used in the film The Mummy and the Indiana Jones movie The Last Crusade.

Using a Stearman for German aircraft was not very good. Imho the best movie with WW1 replica aircraft was the Blue Max.

Hello vumba, Good point but lets take in some details. This was a low budget film so for Joe Average it was a biplane with a noisy different motor hat could be safely flailed all over the sky. If you notice all the Shuttleworth stayed on their home base and on the ground. They were not going to beat on their then 80 year old airframes. Stil;l a fun movie.
