You will notice alcohol fueled cars. Specially full 100% methanol cars- can get away with no intercooler and half radiators. The fuel cooling effect is huge.

The V8 engine you asked about with the large pro charger off the front and no intercooler, it’s a 540ci big block Chevy! And that engine is likely ran on straight m1 (meth) which is why they don’t have an intercooler. Along with that, some people also don’t run intercooler on carb engines anyways due to the cooling effect the carb has on the air as it passes through.

Correct expect that is an f1x, which is the smallest race procharger. 2000hp bracket combo designed to run top dragster or top sportsman and go low to mid 6’s for couple of hundred passes a season

ALSO that procharged 540 is a Brodix block that IS based on an LS platform, although its very different, it is technically LS platform. If i had to guess id say its in the 2000+ hp range

6:15 they don't use intercoolers because all of these big power drag cars run on methanol and that engine is easily making 2500hp +

It’s a cat c15 it’s for commercial trucks they will hold up to about 60 pounds of boost when built right stock they run around 30-40 pounds at 2100 rpm

That v8 with the big direct drive Procharger is a big block Chevy. That package makes well over 2k hp. Scoggin Dickey is local to me

When you run a big V8 on methanol, you don’t need an intercooler the fuel cools the charge

Not just big V8s methanol runs cooler in everything and for a 1/4 mile hit it's plenty to keep engines cool.

Looks like a bbc big block Chevy and it's probably making closer to 3000 hp with that setup and I bet they are using h2o/ meth injection as cooling or running nitrous? Those guys are krazy when they start making that much power!!!!

That big block at 6:00 is most likely running methanol and is more than likely making 2000 to 2500 horsepower

No intercooler is a drag thing real drag cars won’t even use a cooling system at all no coolant in the engine the engine doesn’t run long enough to need that’s why you see drag cars getting pulled into the pits you cut the engine right after you pass the line to not overheat it

Again, American's go crazy over theire engines, 7 l an 600 Bhp, and torque, i'm not impressed at all.... You Sammit makes almost that with a 3 l engine... And who takes a car made for trackracing and make it go in a straight line, an'Merican.... God help us from those....
