As much as I agree with you, I will not allow this Inside Job slander. The show's first season was supposed to be the intro. Shion Takeuchi barely got a chance to start exploring her characters, let alone give them real development. Her view of family trauma and the various coping mechanisms people use was heartbreaking, the series was gonna be so fucking good.
@Kiannka Жыл бұрын
Yes, and despite the art style it wasnt really similar to rick and morty. The stories and characters (although whacky) were more grounded and focused on their relationships and not scifi adventures
@eldritchteletubby9319 Жыл бұрын
@@Kiannka Definitely. I haven't watched R & M, but from what I know of it, that show is about the sci fi stuff. Inside Job is really about the people. Their inherent isolation from the world by the nature of their work is such an interesting concept, and really drives the point home about Reagan and Brett's trauma. Sorry, I could analyse that show for hours, it's so freaking good.

@@eldritchteletubby9319 "but from what I know of it, that show is about the sci fi stuff" Then you dont know anything about R&M. If anything is, the way R&M explores trauma and coping is way more grounded and realistic than whatever Inside Job is doing. Honestly, only reason Inside Job is loved because of the r34 potential of reagan(which is fine). Because every fan of the show i have talked with has a massive hard-on for reagan that simply cant be contained apparently(again, fine).

I’m a full blown “I’ve watched a couple episodes of TOS and TNG, the first two seasons of DIS and most of the movies” super casual Star Trek fan and I also love Lower Decks. The Rick and Morty influence was there for some of the first season (the creator was in the RM writer’s room) but they’ve calmed down quite a lot. Solid writing, well developed characters, very good voice cast. Animation is all noodle arms but has some good moments when they try. It’s not exclusively for the old head hardcore fans although I can tell there are a lot of jokes making fun of super deepcut parts of the canon.
