shout out to Chris Meets Chris... as a video producer in Atlanta, I can appreciate the quality, and the edit. Love your reviews! I’d love to get your opinion on the XPRO for the work I do. I’m a professional headshot and portrait photographer, in a small studio and with natural light. I have an XT3 and most recently, a X100V, and I’ve fallen seriously in love with the rangefinder style of the X100. So much so, that I’m considering selling the XT3 to get the XPRO3. I’d love your thoughts on that. I actually like the idea of the “hidden” LCD, and I love the connection with my subject when I look through a rangefinder style camera. It’s intimate and I can feel the camera get out of the way. It feels good to have an eye on my subject. I have no problem with the XT3, it’s great and reminds me of the old Nikon FE that I trained on as a teen. I just feel a deep connection to rangefinder style. I trained on film, shooting since I was 13, and something about the analog feel of the XPRO is calling to me, but unsure how it would be for professional headshots and portraits. Would you feel confident to have the XPRO as a main portrait and even a studio camera? Could it replace my XT3? I also very occasionally shoot family portraits and commercial portraits. My work is all about people and the human connection to clients. Thanks for any thoughts! I trust your expertise.

As long as you don't need HDMI out, the X-Pro3 is great. It's basically the same as both the X-T3 and X100V in terms of sensor and processor, although the firmware is closer to the X100V than the X-T3. Since it's the same sensor and processor as your current workflow, I don't see why the X-Pro3 won't work out as your primary camera :-)

@@bigheadtaco thank you for the reply! Quick question, what’s the difference between the firmware on X100V vs XT3? In terms of firmware, is one better than the other?
@bigheadtaco2 жыл бұрын
@@babyboy1971 the X-T3 and X-T30 has the oldest of the firmware for the 4th generation cameras. Instead of giving it a firmware update, Fujifilm decided to discount both at the end of the sales cycle, which was disappinting. Things like new film simuations and other advanced features are not on the X-T3 or X-T30, although they're more bonuses than critical updates. The X100V just has the newer version of the firmware.

I recently got it and I noticed that sometimes, even if im in single frame mode, when I take a series of photos where I continuous click the shutter button(esp. the last click where my finger stays pressed on the shutter button), some of the clicks give me multiple photos instead of just one making it seem that I get random burst around 2-4 shots from one click. But sometimes it’s kinda random. Not sure if I got a faulty copy or the shutter is just too sensitive or if I missed something on the menu. I made sure I have same settings with my xt4 and this issue doesnt exist on my xt4. I’m really worried now cos I sold a bunch of my gear just to fund the dura black and your reviews made me go for it. Hope you can help me somehow. Thanks.

Since I actually use the OVF I discovered a problem: The frame lines and focus box do not return to the neutral infinity position after shutter button release.like it did on all the prior X100’s and X-Pro’s. This is NOT a new feature. While the focus box does not return the actual focus point returned to the center of the screen. Test it. I did. Please help me get this fixed because if Fuji does not get complaints I get the feeling after talking to them they will not fix this or at least give us the option to set it up the way were used to.

Call me crazy but I would much prefer this camera with no LCD screen at all like the Leica MD (but keeping the new little screen on the back) and with a straight L shape angle on its right side like the X100f. I love my XPro2 but this design going lower towards the right is something that really bothers me a lot. Other than that, no need to change this camera’s design anymore. Correct me if I’m wrong but I feel that Fuji is attempting to touch a niche market (and I think they should) however, they are doing it in a subtle, shy and almost afraid way. I believe they would be much more innovative if they make the changes I suggest above so the customers would appreciate even more the X-Pro3. They could just keep the production and the price of the X-Pro2 for those who really need or want the LCD and offer a new and really innovative, challenging, desired and special X-Pro3 (with those changes I mentioned) for the, let’s say, different level photographers, a different breed... The way Fuji is doing it now will scare the average photographers (because the screen is weird) and make the more experienced ones skeptical about the camera because the screen is necessary (almost useless) for them. I currently own a good deal of Fujifilm cameras and lenses (X100S, X100T, X100F, X-T1, X-T2, X-T3, X-Pro2, X-H1, XF-14mm f2.8, XF-16mm f2.8, XF-23mm f2, XF-35mm f2, XF-50mm f/2, XF-10-24mm f4, XF-16-55mm f2.8, XF-50-140mm f2.8 and XF-100‑400mm f/4.5‑5.6) so I believe I can say that I know Fujifilm products enough and that I have been observing how Fuji progresses in its camera lineup and that’s how I feel about it. Fuji is proposing that this camera is for more experienced or purist photographers, right? This kind of photographers usually spend their time setting up their cameras before the shooting and don’t waste their time looking at the screen, sweeping, changing unnecessary settings as if shooting with a phone. The X-Pro 3 with no LCD at all could be setup prior to the shooting and when necessary changes are needed it could be done with the dials and bottoms at camera because they are more than enough to change the setting we usually need when shooting (ISO, exp. comp., ss, film s, and aperture on the lens). Really, why do we really need the LCD for the kind of photography that they are advertising the camera for? And this little appeal saying that the camera can be used at waste level is BS. It sounds like the designer team was needing some extra excuse to convince others about the design during the meeting at Fuji and someone who was quiet all the time just said: “look! It also can be used on waste level for more discrete shooting! Like a TLR CAMERA! Isn’t it cool?” It doesn’t look like it was previously thought... If someone really need the LCD, then the right camera should be the X-T3. I thing Fuji is taking a “strange” and risky move. Or maybe its just me being crazy... lol

I have a strong dilemma... I currently shoot with an XT100, so anything I get would be an upgrade. Xpro3+X100V is kind of redundant though, so I was just thinking on getting an Xpro3 and save money by not getting the X100V and maybe getting a lens or something.
@natekong35965 жыл бұрын
I'm surprised that you praised the OVF/EVF hybrid so much but decided to not talk about the OVF at all. The OVF is actually worse than the XPro2. It has single magnification with no framing guide larger than 23mm. Also if you use a long lens like the 90mm, you will be composing the shot in a tiny stamp-size box in the middle. This wasn't a problem on the Xpro2 since it has 2 magnifications. For the camera that boasts to aim primarily for street photography, this gimped OVF is very disappointing.
@fellowcitizen5 жыл бұрын
Yay, Pro Neg Standard is my mainstay ;) That's a promising sign for Classic Negative - I hadn't been especially interested in that, actually, so I'm glad I came here first to find out. I'm so excited to move back to an X-Pro - the previous one made too many compromises, and this one addresses them. I had hoped it would be 5th-gen, though hadn't expected that (I gather they'd save that for the X-H2). I'd love to see the submonitor display the histogram or equivalent. The only thing is pricing this against an X-T30 when I'm trying to keep costs down. The Titanium is a big drawcard for justifying it as a long-term all-terrain piece.

So I’m thinking of selling it all and moving to the x-pro3 because it feels like I could do almost everything with it, and also, I love shooting film when I travel.
