The log trucks arrive and one of them gets lost but Elvie is able to chase him down and guide him to the building site.
All the logs fit on three trucks and while Elvie unloads the trucks, the boys proceed to finish the timber plank porch decking.

Why isn’t the subfloor frame made of logs like the rest of the house, but instead with this OSB which offer minimal protection from elements on the outside???

The flooring is AvanTech engineered subfloor and the joists are TJI engineered. Both of these give a nice squeak free floor that is very stable. The AvanTech floor is extremely resistant to moisture and soaking wet or snowy conditions for many months without any issue. A log trussed floor would shrink and probably be fairly noisy over time.

Log material or dimensional material is not very good for floor framing. The engineered products are superior, flatter and squeak free.

They stretch them out and they can haul very heavy loads. It’s a regulation thing.

Small comment fit your trucks with GPS should stop getting lost or missing turn off's. Just love your builds, especially animal's, just love. We don’t own the delivery trucks and all of the trucks do have GPS but this new address had not been yet input into the global system so the driveway was easy to miss. Sometimes it takes a few months for that to update when you put a new driveway in somewhere in a rural area.

No. We are using JMS crane service from Billings Montana. They are awesome. She’s a great operator.

One of the best crane operators I’ve ever known is a woman. She is well respected since she has ice water in her veins. She’s usually the first to buy everyone a beer at the end of the day too!
