This scene made me realize Bond has a normal-ass office. "This is where I clean my gun and causally day drink."
@mrmomtime1118 жыл бұрын
He would have to spend insane amounts of time there doing normal work, too. I like to imagine that all the years it takes between film releases are filled with 007 going to the office every day. The missions are a rare change of pace if this man were actually real. Imagine the phonecalls, the meetings, the foreign affairs papers, the social media coverage... Man; Pierce's Bond would have had a WAY easier time doing all this shit. Look how much additional work he would have to do with his twitter account and Mi6's media representation and... ugh...

I guess Sean Connery will always be the Bond everyone looks upto but there’s too much in his films you wouldn’t get away with today. For me Brosnan played the part brilliantly, got the balance of womanising and aggression spot on. Daniel Crag was good but he always strayed on the anger and recklessness side too much for me. He was probably the most natural Bond - the one that could come in off the street and play 007 straight away. I liked Pierce on Remington Steele, and I was pissed when NBC screwed him when he was supposed to replace (I think) Roger Moore. Remington Steele had been cancelled, but NBC wanted to do like a 2-hour special finale to wrap up the story, so they wouldn't release him and Timothy Dalton got the gig. Glad Pierce go to do it anyway. I'm not a Bond fan at all, but I did see Die Another Day (hard to argue w/ Pierce and Halle Berry) 🙂
@kjamison59513 жыл бұрын
Connery - superb. Lazenby - ideal but the humour killed him. Moore - more bloody humour than action. Dalton - no comment. Brosnan - didn’t like him in RS, didn’t like him in JB. Craig - a worthy successor to Connery. Connery delivered one-liners but they were without emotion. He truly lived up to the idea of Bond being a blunt object used to dispatch enemies. It wasn’t until Craig took on that mantle that I saw that similar blunt object. I believe Lazenby could have done as well, if the script had been better. Moore never really left The Saint image behind him or The Persuader image with Curtis. It’s only my opinion but Craig and superb scripts rebooted a franchise that was heading the same direction as Doctor Who did in 1989. I’m interested to see who will take over from Craig.

I've always enjoyed seeing Brosnan on the big screen as James Bond, it really fit the character really well. Also it was rather unfortunate that Desmond Llewelyn wasn't in this movie because of an untimely car accident with a head-on collision with another vehicle and dying shortly after at the age of 85. I give a lot of praise to that guy, serving his country in the British Army as a second lieutenant for the Royal Welch Fusiliers. during the second world war, survived for 5 years as a POW at Colditz Castle in Germany after being captured by the German Army while in France,

Notice Brosnan's Irish accent coming through at 1:45. Also loved the way that Bond refers to Q as Quartermaster until he is impressed by the car. By the end, he's Q - he's earned Bond's respect as the successor to Desmond Lewellyn's Q.

I was looking forward to pierce being in more bond films and cleese taking over as Q. but for some reason, I wanted the films to continue in much the same way as they had throughout the 90s because i loved goldeneye so much. but everyone else thinks pierces movies are dated in many ways. I never understood it. I really liked these 4 movies but I wont argue if someone told me die another day was the weakest.

@oneandonlysound995 жыл бұрын
Honestly, it's the charm and existence of films from the Brosnan era such as Goldeneye and The World Is Not Enough that made it so relevant. M literally calls Bond "a dinosaur." His boss went from cigarette smoking man to this legit smart and somewhat badass elderly woman. They made it a point to show while he may seem out of place, he is right where he needs to be. Then they did the same with M. Right into die another day-it's opening and whole "he is messed up/damaged" scenes before he basically self-rehabs is great. All the gritty talk, Craig just went through that in another form in the next film. Honestly, Die Another Day is better than tomorrow never dies to me-the latter's 2nd half like anything after "the doctor" was just really boring to me. Weakest bond no way-c'mon we've survived literal filler, a writer's strike film, lazenby not bond even in a film with a good plot, volcano lair, a unofficial but existent bad thunderball remake, and a space adventure.
@oneandonlysound995 жыл бұрын
@@LSSYLondon Totally agree. Getting M (Judi Dench) involved in the overall plot the way they did, coupled with the almost horrific take on Stockholm syndrome with Electra, set if off. If Denise Richards being cast a scientist was a bit of a put-off, look no further than the brilliance of Robert Carlyle as Renard, a gorgeous opening song easy top 5, and Bond's level of compassion going up more than usually ever for someone he didn't really have feelings for. Oh, and one last thing-the Russian mobster is actually given a completed arc from golden-eye. A++++++++++++++++

i thought that each bond has their own taste. I personally feel like if the films were written better, pierce brosnan's charectar would have been the best of them all. If you read the books, you'd see that bond is a gentlemen that's very skilled. It's just the way that he speaks, and the way he talks is just so perfect for the character.
@sarizonana8 жыл бұрын
Ok im now confused. I adore Pierce as Bond and his movies and no matter what he will always be my favorite Bond: gentleman, sense of humor, very stylish and great with the ladies. But how really was the Bond created by Fleming ? Some claim with all their certainty he was brooding, unlikable and a thug and others say he was more like Pierce Brosnan and early Connery. Can someone please clear it for me, this is driving me crazy
@MyPaulbond8 жыл бұрын
Sara Zonana he was in the books more like Craig's and Timmys but the producers from the 60s wanted Bond to be charming and Terence Young the director of Dr No had a lot to do with how bond was he told Connery how to play Bond and the way he played him stuck till they rebooted the films
