Oh man, I'd hit the like button 1000 times if I could. You just saved me a lot learnin curve hassle. My blower motor was pretty easy to figure out on my 2016' 579. Turns out heater core is almost as easy. Thanks a million.

Thank you Big Jon for your service to this country, and thanks for this video.that quickly showed me this is a job I can do myself. I'm just a steering wheel holder for a dump truck outfit.

Awesome video! Strait to the point! Most guy's would make this a 45 minute video, when your 5 minute video is plenty good!

Hi Jon. What year is your truck ? I have a 2016 peterbilt 579. I keep having leaks from the radiator hoses and I’ve had them replaced but still the same thing keeps happening. I tried going to peterbilt to get a diagram of what the hoses should look like but they can’t find anything. Anyway you can help me ? I just need pictures of what the radiator hoses are supposed to look like on the truck. Thank you.

Wassup Big John. Just found you. Good video and great info. To you and anyone on here, I have a 2016 t680. Its wintertime. Defrost and heat are blowing out cold air while im driving, but warmer while im sitting still. If I put it in recirc, it comes out warmer, but won't recirculate on defrost. I guess that's from the factory that way. Not looking forward to North Dakota this year. Also,, I smell coolant sometimes but I see no leaks. I know thats a lot of info.. Just wondering what you think it might be. Sleeper heat is working properly. Thanks.

Most likely you blend door isn't working properly

@@BigJon is that something I can fix without replacing the whole unit? Where is it located? I'm gonna take off the blower motor and change the filter behind it. Im unfamiliar with the area. Im also gonna replace the core.
@BigJon4 жыл бұрын
Its located in the main ac unit behind the dash. When I had to fix mine I did it myself it was a pain and you need an extra set of hands to help cause you have to pull the dash out
@BigJon4 жыл бұрын
Its mainly the labor your paying for at a shop the blend door is $20 and the actuator is $60 on amazon but gonna take 10hrs of labor to complete

Hello I just busted mine and it’s slowly spewing antifreeze. I can’t replace until next week, can I temporarily connect both hoses together so I’m not smelling antifreeze inside cab. Just long enough to get it replaced. I then can take it out and get a new one without paying a mechanic.
@BigJon5 жыл бұрын
Yes you can connect them together, but obviously you wont have any heat if you do

Don't vice grip your hoses. You just bought a heater core and created a reason to buy new hoses.
