Shout out to rogue for the free stream, I think that was the first strongman comp I watched and have been a fan since.

JF is criminally underrated as a strongman
@francogalea80421 күн бұрын
The way he was improving year after year at the end of his career was incredible. He injured himself when he was poised to win a major show. Would love to see him back at the top level but I don't think it will happen.
@Seb4-w20 күн бұрын
For a good 4 year window he was the guy that fucked up your favorite strongman's group or comp
@CraigNiel20 күн бұрын
Thing with JF is that (like so many) he had too many weakness's. He was unbelievable at squat and deadlift but other events (particularly in WSM) he was weak at so never placed high regularly. Personally I think JF would have made a much better powerlifter than strongman. Still, I've always liked JF and would have loved for him to take an Arnold Classic or WSM just once.
@chriskolenberg415520 күн бұрын
Are you guys for real?? Why is he underrated or why should he have done powerlifting (which he actually did). He won podium places on all the major shows: ASC, WSM, WUS, Shaw classic. Won twice world strongest viking, and I don't know how many times strongest man of Canada. I don't think he is underrated nor should he have pursued more in powerlifting. Everyone that knows the sport knows he's a true legend.

My man J-F Caron was just too strong of a deadlifter for that era once Thor, Brian, Prichett & Janashia were gone
@antoniocenteno148321 күн бұрын
Yeah. Out of all the elephant bar deadlifts that was the "weakest" and he won no problem. In comparisson he finished 2nd with a 961 pound deadlift in 2020, wich was obviously won by Thor who actually won in his first deadlift with 966, but still went for 1025 just for fun; and in 2018 he also got second with a massive 1021 pound deadlift, again behind Thor´s 1042.

You know, Rogue pretty much started it when they got involved in the Arnold´s
@antoniocenteno148321 күн бұрын
What i love about the Rogue invitational is that Rogue put together new strongman events that would not make the cut for the Arnold´s but will still be really cool to watch, is like the "have fun" of the 4 big strongman shows.
@EllisThings21 күн бұрын
We've really missed fully fit versions of Oleksii, Martins, and Mateusz. Hooper has had it easy lol
@tumadre500021 күн бұрын
I wouldn't say easy...you have Trey Mitchell, Tom Stoltman, he faced Brian Shaw, he is facing a returning Thor, Evan Singleton, and other strong up and comers. Mitchel Hooper is just a well rounded strongman who is just top tier and would also have destroyed fit versions of Martins, Mateusz, and Oleksii...probably would have been above a fit Thor when he was at his strongest in 2018.
@antoniocenteno148321 күн бұрын
This. I love Mitch, but people act like the oposition nowdays is toguher than when those guys where in shape; now Thor is back though but comming from injury... he did complete the carry - log event today though
@CraigNiel20 күн бұрын
I'd hardly say he's has it "easy"... His first WSM win (only his second appearance at WSM) was against an in shape Tom Stoltman coming a close second and Novikov third. Stoltman was the previous champion and Novikov the 2020 winner. To come into only your second WSM appearance and win in those circumstances is incredible. You simply have to be an elite strongman to do this. That's just his first win, I can;t be pestered to break down all his others. I really don't understand the hate towards Hooper or even the snardy comments like this. Had it easy? Do me a favour!

@@kamikadzegga9188mitch hooper is pretty much matuesz with a good deadlift 😂
@Micheldied19 күн бұрын
@@oliverbailey48 disagree. Mitch is incredible, but they're very different athletes. Mitch consistently places high, but he doesn't actually win many events at the biggest shows (not including Giants Lives), although he's definitely getting better and probably will end up winning way more events. He's cerebral and typically does just enough. Mateusz has a huge weakness in the deadlift but he stomps everyone else in many, many events, and he kind of has to because his deadlift is so weak. Many of the things he's done are leagues above what anyone else is even capable of.

There's that Mr. Big Loz 💪😎🤘 Hope to see ya arm wrestling again soon.. been some chatter by the fans that maybe you, Eddie, Krill (I don't know how to spell his name lol) and Brian Shaw would be amazing seeing y'all on the arm wrestling table. You vs Brian is kind of inevitable to happen lol. A lotta fans wanting to see it. Maybe even a uncle Jon rematch depending on how much arm wrestling training you've done since that match, but definitely you vs Brian and if somehow Eddie beats Brian then maybe you vs Eddie would be awesome. I've followed strongman longer than arm wrestling but the last couple years arm wrestling has stole my attention and focus lol. Both the top 2 sports on the planet in my opinion 💪
