Nothing I saw would stop me from any of those, the one with the stiff action just needs love. I do think it will need a little work slightly loosening the pivot. That Barlow is sweet, though decision between it and the Loosahatchie Jack. Thanks for sharing BigRed, be safe.

Great Eastern Cutlery has sold seconds. I got some about 5 years ago. I couldn’t find the defect. The discount was about 15 bucks off the original. GEC stamped the the blade so it couldn’t be resold at full price.

I love how hard it is to find the defects in these. I also like there quality control!! I have a Loosahachi Jack second and its great! I didn't get it at half price but it was still a deal! Thanks for sharing JB! Mine had a slight jigging flaw.

Rosecraft seconds are still awesome knives for sure. I have 2 and they are excellent. One I still cannot find anything wrong with it and the other has a small area of discoloration around the end of the scale. Nothing big at all. Great company. Thanks JB

Iv had a hard opening knife like that with slipjoint use like wd 40 and a strong air compressor, and you can work it out . Some debree have gotten around the pivot. iv fixed many like that, and it works every time. Appreciate the video, brother 💯 👊

I got the Loosahatchie and the Barlow, which had a chip near a bolster, but I consider it barely a second. The Loosahatchie was labeled 'backspacer gap' which is barely noticeable, but there were a couple of smooth spots on the show side scale. Still, for less than 30, not a bad deal. Also,I sprayed it with alcohol and got a lot of orange dye on my fingers:)

I got a 2nd RCT001 Little Riverbed Skinner about a year ago that has a little yellow spot in the white bone that I just dyed red. I just picked up the French Broad Jack 2nd that they said has scratching on the bolster that I had a hard time seeing but was fine as I got it to carry loose in my pocket with keys and coins as a user.

So, I did send the Loosahatchie to you purposefully. The question in the end about seconds going out for sale. Does the knife open fully and lock against the spring in the open position, and does it full close. Though difficult, it does function as a knife and is safe to carry. Make sense? Now, how many have that serious of an issue? Prob less than 1%

I have 6 of the seconds so far the Zambezi I got was a seconds for a stiff pull. I won't every carry it, pull is way too stiff to be safe. The other 5 are awesome. I guess all in all for half price it all worked out.

My swayback was beautiful, with very minor issues (pale dye and a scratch on the shield). Apparently a second is anything less than perfect! I remember the last batch of seconds being $5 off. These were half price! So I ordered another, a French Broad jack second. RCB is priced out of my comfort zone, so this is a chance for me to own some really sweet knives. Be interesting to see if you can fix the Loosahatchee. That’s a pretty serious issue.

Just got the Frenchy. Beautiful! The dye on the front has some white Appaloosa-ing, or roan-ing, or merling… spotting or fading. And there’s a very small, stable, smooth crack near a pin. I’ll IG you a photo. The pull is like a 7-8. Absolutely gorgeous knife.
