Here’s the best advice you can get from anyone about trucking. Live in your truck full time get rid of any rent payments on a house or apartment. Your only expenses will be your phone bill and food and try to keep them low. Then save most of your money don’t waste it on foolish things. Only take off on your vacation time so that you are always getting paid every week of the year. Doing this you should be able to save no less than $200,000 in five years and if you are actually making good money you should be able to save a lot more than that in five years. Then think about what it is that you truly want to be able to do in your life and figure out how much it will cost you and save a lot more than what you figure because it will definitely cost more than what you figured. And then you can start doing something that really makes you feel good about living your life. This is the best advice for everyone that is young enough and able to drive a big truck for a living. And it’s the best job where everyone that does it can save the most money in a short amount of time. BIN THERE DONE IT. I am now retired and enjoying my life.

A spray bottle with dish soap and water, scrubbing with a long scrub brush will also. Just spraying with dish soap and water is a good start. Even waiting in line for a truck wash can use dish soap and water. Many hardware stores sell 2 gallon pump sprayers. Better than little sprayers.

First of all I respect you for what you do and your current career choice. I am not here to criticize you in any way. But I will suggest that in your idle time it may help you to watch some videos on how others tarp a load and the techniques they use. Observe other tarped loads and try to make your tarp job look as good or better than theirs & look at how they place their bungee cords. What works for them may help make the task of tarping a load easier on you and you back. I just watched a video of you on the side of the hiway somewhere near Montrose, Colo re-tarping a load. That is never where you want to re- tarp a load ! I realize you are just learning about flat bed frieght. I started hauling specialized flat bed freight in 1971, I officially stopped trucking in 2007. If flat beds and tarps get to be too much you might want to try dry freight and see if you prefer it better. The straps should be straight across the top of the load with a half twist to reduce wind vibration, if you are tarping over the straps the twist doesnt matter. You can never have too many bungee cords or extra hooks. ( I carried mine in a 5 gallon bucket in my side box) . Investing in a 8' ladder may be of benefit also. Inspect your straps and bungees before , during and after each load and discard any that show significant wear. Get a couple pair of good work gloves. Again I am not criticizing you. Things to remember, 3 left turns are equal to one right (and vice versa) and You can go downhill too slow many many times, but you will only go downhill too fast , once ! God Bless and protect you. Thank you for what you do. Respectfully Yours.

Thank you for bringing us along for the ride! Love the road-going footage and the peripheral views! Sunsets and sunrises are amazing! Also love that you show just the regular everyday stuff too! When seeing you work on those loads I thought to myself, "Dang, what a hard working girl, her parents can be reeeally proud!" I would be exhausted after just tarping one load. You're doing good Becca, and don't let anyone convince you otherwise. I hope you get to drive the new "next gen" T680 before long. You still doing the Lone Wolf program? Hope they can hook you up with a serious rig someday. Not that the T680 you're driving now is crap or anything, but I would love for you to get to ride something newer and comfier. Just a personal viewpoint here, but I think you could really benefit from giving your rig (and them tarps 😂) a good wash in-between jobs. I get that you're hard pressed for income so you wanna get to the next gig as soon as possible. But think of your rig as your marketing space, or as your brand. You wanna get the job done, but you wanna look good doing it too, right? Anyway you're doing great! Love to see you keep soldiering on in these times! Keep your spirits strong and don't lose your faith in a loving creator. He sees all our struggles and he plans for a really bright future for mankind. We're not there yet, but it's coming. I think something should be added to the Interstate Commerce Act that requires shippers and receives to allow use of the restroom for truckers. Public use of restrooms should not mean people you ask to do large scale shipping work for you. You know, when people have to drive significant distances and take significant risks. That is really treating truckers low, I'm sorry. Man or woman risks their life to bring you some stuff, and then they can't use the restroom upon arrival;? Crazy. Then, about the no tarping on their property rule? Well, I would then wonder if they had insurance. After that, I might wonder if it's worth risking my life for them. I might just drive off and let them see what I thought of their policy. I would raise this issue in a Presidential debate. No honest working person should be denied use of the restroom in a business that does trucking like this. It's outrageous and worthy of a change in the law.
