HOW TO MIRROR FINISH A BAR
I start with an 80 grit flap disc on my angle grinder then I use my drill with 50 mm round sanding discs . I start with 150 grit then go through the following Grits 240-400-800 Then once I get to the following Grits I use a small squirt of WD-40 1200-1500-2000-2500-3000. The WD40 helps to lubricate the discs and stops the sanding disk binding up with the metal powder . Then after that I use my buffer wheel on my bench grinder to get a perfect mirrored finish on it??????.

I keep all my steel and cast iron pieces and I give them to my friend and once he gets about a tonne from me and his own collecting he takes that to the scrapyard and sells it then he buys some beer and comes over to my house and we make a night of it.

BigstackD inspired me to start melting. I now have a devil forge and I began melting some copper, from electric wire, some aluminuim from renovation project and zamac from old medals. Learned a lot from your videos.

Mr. Boomguy I Started with a 5 kg devil forge , I think it is the smallest. One 4 kg crucible a mold and some cheap tongs. I already had a lot strip copper wire from old renovations and melted about 20 4 kg ingots before running out of copper. Really happy of how it turned out! You could start melting yourself for under 1000$ of equipment and upgrade your setup as you continue.

You can melt tin in a simple tin scoop on your kitchen stove and cast it in a simple sand form

Sounds interesting. I sand casted I teeny tiny knife made out of pennies. 😂 I used the Styrofoam method where it melts and takes the form. Turned out "OK" I guess. 😂 It's pure Zinc so very soft and doesn't hold an edge for s*it. I think pressing the actual shape in sand would be better than foam. But I'm interested in what you're talking about. How do I get started exactly?
