We’ve got two 8RX340’s and three 8R 340’s they cost more like $380,000. The 8RX’s cost about $90,000 more than the wheeled. The list price is just that, a list price, nobody ever pays that much.

I wonder how good of a job if I used the harrows your are showing here to run in wheat stubble ahead of a no til air seeder ? Nice looking operation this farm has. Thanks for all your help
@bigtractorpower8 ай бұрын
The Kelly is built in Australia their original purpose was to work wheat stubble. They work from to 1 to 1.5 inches. They are perfect for mixing residue and fertilizer. Many farms here are using them to work wheat seed into corn stalks to seed their wheat crops in the fall now.
@kennethcarlton28608 ай бұрын

Just love spring tillage. This farm had a great lineup of equipment. Those Kelly Diamond Harrows continue to impress me. I wonder whats better.....the Diamond Harrow or a speed disc?? Probably depends on the soil type? Awesome video Jason.
@bigtractorpower8 ай бұрын
Both types of implements are great. It all depends what you need to do to the soil. The Kelly is great for working the top inch to smooth, mix and incorporate. A high speed disk will run up to 6 inches deep to really work the soil and bury residue.

Looks like their one of the few guys who take the weights off the front of their tractors in the spring, those harrows must not pull that hard so they don’t need the extra weight on the front?
@bigtractorpower8 ай бұрын
The Kellys work allot of ground in a hurry and do not require allot of horse power. The first farm in town that bought one 12 years ago told me it was the best tillage investment he ever made. He replaced two 30ft turbo tills with a 45ft Kelly. He is still running the same Kelly today. This farm and several others in town have since added Kelly Harrows to their operations. They are simple and effective.
