On the road trucker here. Been looking for a solution to cool my cabin at night in the summers instead of leaving my truck on in idle, save a lot of money on fuel. I camp, tailgate, go out for little league games with the nieces and nephews and grill at the lake a lot. Your reviews have pretty much confirmed my ideas that this would be a great choice. Thank you for taking the time to do these videos.

Put a small dehumidifier in the room with the cooler. I am in a 20ft Airstream (no slide outs) and the Icy Breeze with my small (about 12 sq inch) dehumidifier works awesome in the hot/humid Texas summer when the power goes out for a few hours during a storm. Couldn’t/wouldn’t use to replace a 15K BTU unit, but will keep my trailer cool (around 75-80 degrees) for a few hours in the middle of a 110 degree day outside.

I’d be interested to see if you added a bunch of frozen jugs/bottles of water plus water and bag of ice to fill in the gaps how long it would run for. And how cold it could get the mid bunk after it ran for a while. I suspect in this case that room will get cooler with time as heat comes out of the furnishings etc.

I've seen a few people use these in their antique cars w/o A/C to do drives in the summer. Definitely a nice alternative to burning up in 90-100s heat in a small space. Only issue would be the water leaking out if you were driving aggressively or if it fell over. Guess just fill it up to min with water and wedge it in the floorboard and point the hose at you.

I can see some validity when people say it's nor an air conditioner... No its not a swamp cooler, but it doesnt actively remove the moisture from the environment (the original intention of AC was not to cool air, but to remove the moisture) Edited to add: I don't think either side is right or wrong. Its kinda in a category of its own
@kishascape
@kishascape 5 ай бұрын
Also what makes an AC is the compression cooling. Which this doesn't do, it also doesn't cool by evaporation either like the swamp. It's basically just a heat exchange fan.

How loud is it when you don't have it on high in the extreme mode? I'm in a music group with a symphony orchestra and a choir. For our spring concerts, the director is generally dying halfway through. He has a little fan which helps a some, but really isn't enough. I've been looking for something that we could put at his feet (in front of the podium where it wouldn't be visible) and have it blow cool air directly on him. Cooling the room or the air around him isn't a priority ... just having a cool airflow on him would be enough. As you can imagine though, given the fact that it is a concert with parts of it where the music gets very quiet, whatever solution I find needs to be pretty quiet.

IMO biggest waste of money, limited use if using in Texas, probably works great in North Dakota in the summer. Gave mine away, spent more time draining melt water and changing out ice or frozen water bottles than it’s worth. Cooling is ok if the hose is up your shirt or pointed directly at your face.

You can't compare humidities of different spaces with different temperatures by using relative humidity. You have to use dewpoints temperatures because warmer air can hold more moisture. 83.3F @ 48% humidity has a dewpoint temperature of 62F (slightly sticky). 81.3F @ 60% humidity has a dewpoint of 66F (uncomfortable). And the creator thinks low 80sF is comfortable? Maybe with dewpoints in the 40s and a nice breeze, but definitely not with dewpoints in the mid 60sF Just to put this in perspective. During the summer, along the gulf coast but not immediately on the beach, dew points are typically 76ish during the summer months.(oppressive) On a 100F day the relative humidity is (only) 49%, but the "feels like temperature" would be 115F. Most people would consider it to be very humid despite it only being 49%

Can someone provide advice on whether this is a good product for me to purchase? I have a Nissan Rogue, and I'm thinking of getting this because I have to take a road trip with my 10 month old puppy this summer, and although I have adequate AC in my car to use while driving, I anticipate times when I will have to leave my puppy in the car to run errands. I am also visiting my out-of-state father and don't want to leave my puppy alone in my father's house because he might get anxious and start chewing on things, etc. since he has never stayed away from me except inside his own house. Anyway, in the summer time I do not want to leave my dog in the car for any length of time without some kind of cooling system inside the car. Realistically, will this product keep the car cool for up to an hour, if we are shopping or dining at a restaurant and can't bring the dog with us? Also, my dog has a thick coat and I haven't had him during a summer yet, so I don't know how he will respond to the summer heat and/or a heat wave. Thanks!

Quite disappointing 500 plus dollar and it hardly cools such a small room. You have to point the tube straight at yourself, which is annoying to have wind in your face the whole time, plus your body is getting too cold this way and when you step away from the cooler or go outside om the sunshine, the temperature difference is way too big. If it is 100 F, it won't even work anymore. And you have to get the ice from somewhere. If you have a small rv with a small fridge, it is hard to cool enough ice. You could use it as a bed cooler, put the hose under the sheets and turn tue fan on the lowest speed possible,

You’re better off just idling your vehicle and getting your oil changed more frequently to counteract the harsh effects of idling. Your vehicle HVAC system is much more powerful than this. You will be cooler, happier, and you won’t have a massive cooler taking up all of your prime and limited real estate inside of your vehicle.
