So helpful. My 2004 SID was bucking and sticking and just not working anymore. I removed it from the bike, followed this video step by step, put it back on, and voila! rides like new again. Cannot thank you enough.

Это не ремонт и даже не восстановление. Это полный разбор для очередного хорошего обслуживания! Приятно! Смотрел как ЛёхаПсков восстанавливал, вытачивал запчасти, делал какие-то подгоны и выдумки. А здесь чисто разбор, замена бушингов и обратная сборка с заменой всех смазочных. Всё кратко и понятно!

Да, но для того чтобы самому это сделать надо инструмента специального какое-то немыслимое количество, поэтому дешевле и проще наверное отдать в мастерскую, хотя это всё равно дорого будет или оставить так. Я тоже думал свой ROCKSHOX правда простой, пружинно-масляный с регулировкой жёсткости механической перебрать, потому что он полуживой. Но боюсь если разбор и то не факт, пройдёт успешно, если ничего не свернётся, то сборка обратно может не произойти. Вообще любой ремонт дома это морока та ещё ввиду отсутствия тех же интрументов, помимо навыков. Одно отсутствие треноги\стойки для ремонта и обслуживания велосипеда даже замену какой то мелочи от настройки скоростей до замены каких то запчастей и других настроек превращается в пытку на карячках с постоянной ловлей велика и желанием иметь ещё пары рук.

I thought I was the only one still riding one of these forks. I have the 'World Cup' model from 2004 I think with Sid 99 lowers. It is on a titanium hardtail with 26" WH-M965 XTRwheels. Running XTR 965 dual control groupset from around 2003-4. Bike weighs around 21.5 or 22lbs. I love the fork--VERY smooth riding set on 80mm travel. And I have managed to ride some very gnarly terrain with that setup, The fork is 20 years old, and still works great.I bought a Sid 'team' for a friend at the same time when I had a dealer account, and his is also still in use. I am about to service my fork--just waiting for an oil mixing syringe from Amazon to do the pure damper side. I will use this video to help with the job as I have not done it it in 2-3 years. Thanks for the upload.

8:16 IFP(internal floating piston) have to be placed on the end of rod with the pocketed side down. then IFP will be seated 6inch depth easily. thanks for your video 라고 쓰고 보니 한국인이시군요..ㅎㅎ 참고하시길.. 앗.. 그리고 분해 시 공기압 배출은 왼쪽하단의 음극부터 빼는 것이 국룰입니다..:)

Hello--the Sid I am working on is a different model. I believe it is a 'World cup Carbon' with 'slippery silver' stanchions, and carbon crown/steer tube.The only service guide I found online is titled 'Sid 2003-2004 Service Guide'. The document is more confusing than anything, as it covers 3-4 forks with differing internals. I have done oil change and cleaning on the fork before, but not not for quite a while.Upon reassembly I have an o-ring left over. However I am unsure where it fell out from. It fell out while I was disassembling and I'm not sure from where. I am mainly wondering if there is an o-ring in the bottom of either one of the lower legs>. Thanks for any help.

I am also riding a Sid World cup fork from 2004. With regualar service, and used as intended these old forks last forever. Can still be found occasionally on Ebay.

I just did this on a Sid World Cup from early 2000s. The PDF I found was for about 4 different models of Sids--very confusing. All kinds of complex part names for stuff that wasn't even in my fork. Guide I found was 2003-2004 Sid Service Guide.Closest I could to the fork I have. Some older PDFs have been removed from the Sram archive.

It’s not glue, it’s grease for the seals. Will most likely be sram butter/ slickoleum.
