That looks phenomenal. Questions: 1. The transparent primer you are referencing is a, "Plastic Adhesion Promotor", is this correct?? 2. Is there no need for sanding between primer coat and paint? 3. Is there no sanding between paint and final clear coats?

Great video Martin, but a little confusing. I want a gloss black fade into bare aluminium but I think you used to say transparent aluminium primer is not available. Looks like you got a good result from adhesion promoter for plastic. This is what you linked in the description. Shall I try this too?

Interesting. The link you have for the US for primer is plastic adhesion promoter, which I thought was only for plastics. I thought for aluminum you needed either self-etching primer or a DTM epoxy primer. Can you explain?

Idont think these candy colours can be used on steel frames because you wouldnt get the shine through you get from spraying directly on to alluminum.

Guten Tag dir. Ich habe eine technische Frage. Der 2K-Klarlack löst die 1K-Lacke darunter nicht an? Ich habe vor einen alten slurshnen zu lackieren und über der primärfarbe (1K) mit Metalliclack (1K) eine dünne farbschicht aufzunebeln. Besteht dann die Gefahr, dass mir der Klarlack den vorher aufgesprühten Lack löst?

ALWAYS degrease before primer, it won't be clean even after blasting. It's a must if you want to do everything good.

I want to strip an older aluminium frame and then polish it to have a natural finish. After polishing the frame will I still need to degrease it before using a clear primer and then finishing with a 2k clearcoat. According to you´r links, you used a plastic primer, is that right? I´m having trouble with my primer and are trying to find a working one. Tried Montana aluminium primer, but it did not work right, and then an etching primer, but it did not etch...

Pro aluminum primer is not availble online and not in spray cans. I use it only in spray guns. But as you might know if I don`t put a link I get thousands of messages wich cost me month!

Forks are interesting, the lowers are magnesium so you can't just strip them then use a regular primer. I paint lowers all the time and just scuff the current finish then prime and go from there
