I love your ethos/manifesto!! The 'platform' is the best way to do things for sure - much more sustainable and your bike can evolve rather than buy a new one! ...I take this approach with my bike :)

one of the reasons I went to coil setup on my new bike, is that I don't have to adjust the air pressure. there are parts of the year that get very unstable, so have to adjust it every time I went out or it would be too firm or so low I would bottom out easily. I haven't tried any Formula product yet. but nice to see you have a coil option now. I got a Fox 36 with Vorsprung coil conversion. in the rear I have EXT Storia v3, I only have ridden the bike for 2 rides so far. It''s on a Nicolai/Geometron G1.

You have a lovely set up. We hope you'll get the opportunity to try the Selva C at some point, it's really a set-and-forget beast.

Thanks for this Amazing video! But I have a question dear Formula Team: I have the „old“ version of the Selva, the one without the Letter S, R or C. It’s just named Selva. It has the single air chamber, with the negative steel spring. Is it possible to install the coil kit on my older Fork, too? It would be amazing, since I’m already running the EXT Storia in the rear and it performs amazing. Now if I’m able to get the full Italian coil setup, by converting my fork, that would be awesome!
@FormulaItaly4 жыл бұрын
Yep, the "old" Selva is full compatible with coil or 2Air. All our technologies are retro-fit. We don't want to leave riders behind. We want your Selva to stay as long as possible on your bike!

I did not now that Formula made forks, at least not Aftermarket ones. Now I know why you talked about a fork with triple yoke clamps :D

This is insanely cool! 35 is not supported as a retrofit target this time, am I right?
@FormulaItaly4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not. 35 has different stanchions and lowers. We try to do everything retro-fit but for a technical reason, we're limited to the same model/platform, which, in this case, is the Selva.

I have ridden the Selva Coil for the first time today. It feels awesome but a little on the soft side, since it comes with the medium spring and I weigh 95kg. Just wondering. Would putting in the orange CTS give it a bit of bottom out resistance? I couldn't get the firm spring with the fork when I ordered it so I will have to make things work until I can get this spring.
@FormulaItaly4 жыл бұрын
Hi, very happy you liked the fork so far. With a firmer CTS or a firmer spring, you achieve slightly different things. We would suggest to try both and see what you like most. Start with a firmer CTS if this is easier and let us know.
@harzenduro4 жыл бұрын
Formula Well, it‘s easier to put in the firmer CTS as it was in the box. So sad that you didn‘t make it possible for the end customer to choose the spring rate before buying. I understand that this would be somewhat difficult to handle though. I‘ll have to buy the firm spring once it‘s available.
@FormulaItaly4 жыл бұрын
@@harzenduro This would be very, very difficult to handle. We try to do our best but we also have to face the way how the distribution model works.

Unfortunately it's almost impossible for me to use all of the travel on the Selva C with a soft spring and 15-20 % SAG (70 kg with gear). Sent the fork to the distributor who checked everything and they had to calibrate the bushings, but not much gain. I think the Selva C is a questionable design... The air pressure in the spring chamber for bottom out resistance stays the same, regardless of the actual steel spring, so a fork with a soft spring is much more progressive than a fork with a harder spring. stupid. I also had to run the damping completely open (gold CTS) and having no real adjustability is a complete dealbreaker. The silver CTS was worse because it's more high speed, combined with the progression the fork became completely unrideable. Can't understand how that can be the most comfortable valve with that much HS... Worst and most inflexible fork I've ever ridden and probably my worst bike purchase ever.
