Chris - good for you for being so open about your meds. Usually a taboo subject and one which so many of us are ashamed to talk so openly about. “Inspirational” is the best way to describe it.

That maybe was the case 20 years ago. It's allover now. Maybe little too much. Everybody has issues now. It has not been taboo forever now. Don't say this cause you think it's cool to say this.

A lot of those meds are addictive ('ka-jing') with nasty side effects. There was a time when 'alternative medication' was the norm, before the Rockefellers flooded the market with their big pharma treatments not cures/side-effects/vilify the natural products/vilify the scientists who complained/promote their products etc to create the twisted 'treatments' we have today. What with that and the jab side effects as well, god knows what's going on..

Your permission to torque series gave me such an inspiration! I've had to sell my house because of the bitter sweet memories of a rather vemonous ex. Spent 8 years with her, bought the house together and went completely tits up but in the midst of the depression I was watching your permission to torque. It gave me the inspiration and motivation to just fuck off for a month to Europe on my old BMW. I started to get better, the mood changed, the mindset changed and I'm so glad that this ex is an ex. Taught me a lot of life lessons but the new me is so much better because of it. This trip that I've planned is a closing of one chapter and an opening of another and doing it on my bike that I'm absolutely in love with. If you ever feel upset or depressed just remember, you're inspiring people!

Mate, no matter how much you say (being sarcastic or not) that your videos are pointless or you don’t like going into the detail, they really are not. Your vlogs are the only ones that I really get engrossed in! I’m all for men’s mental health, thank you for being you and keep smashing out the content. Believe it or not, a lot of us, need you! I’ll be selfish and say, don’t go months without uploading, your weekly content is NEEDED 😂.

Excellent news Chris on all fronts from the sound quality of the mic, the planned trip to Morocco and getting off the meds - they have their place in many people’s lives but if mentally you’re up for it then go for it!! The last Permission2Torque series and trip out West was brilliant on all levels. Keep on doing what you do 😎 PS: would love one of your bikes but my overdraft doesn’t agree 🙄 PPS: keep the current GS 🇲🇦

Definitely use the GSA you have Chris. You'll probably only do a very minor amount of off road and you can just put the full crash bars on it. You won't damage it if you have the right protection on it, just replace the bars after the trip. You would possibly lose more on depreciation selling it now than the cost of all that gear. You should go and do the off road skills course though, would be very handy to have the training and really shows how amazingly capable the GS/GSA is and how to use the electronics to your advantage off road.

I hiked through the Atlas Mountains years ago, I went early June I believe and it wasn’t disgustingly hot but I was quite happy camping with just a simple tent and sleeping bag. Avoiding the cold nights will mean you need to carry less camping kit and leave more room for incredibly poorly made rugs and soft furnishings..

I was prescribed citalopram as a last ditch treatment for severe referred pain causing a non stop migraine (like years of a migraine). Took about 4 or 5 days to "kick in", I couldn't last 2 days after that. The level of numbness and dissociation was too much. I felt like all the risk awareness built up over growing up was all gone, like it was highly likely I'd walk in front of a bus because the awareness was just not there. Anyway, point is that I took it not because I had to, I feel for those who do need it to help psychologically.

My dood. Ive been battling chronic clinical depression and drug abuse my whole life. And I'm way older than you. I've spent that entire time trying to keep myself alive in spite of myself and my dumb ideas. I have also been surrounded by freinds with these same demons and proclivities. So please hear this with the love with which its intended: you sound like every friend ive ever had who felt stuck, got manic, went off their meds and started having all kinds of big ideas about what would fix everything. Ive done it myself. Many, many times. And while the action of the process is distracting for a while, you'll still be you. Who is an amazing dude btw. So Im not saying dont go to Morocco, or sell the house or sell all the bikes (dont sell the bikes) or decide you're gay or try a fad diet or bang a bunch of strange. All im saying is...be careful with your bad-self. I've lost a lot of friends over the years. And we all really enjoy you being alive and in good shape. Even when you don't. And if you see this, thanks for hearing me out. You're a fuggin mensch.

Herr Baron, nice to catch up with ya...and g'luck with the meds, bike, and Morocco....sounds very exotic to this California Surfer boy. No shame on the meds! Good on ya for sharing, and if they've served the purpose and you can move along; do so. My only advice would be not to do it alone, use the help of your medico, or good friends. Most of them would love to be there for you and remember that life is really more of a team journey than many of us realize. Take care.

Offroad, I'd take the F800, having the parallel twin instead of the opposed as well as being that much lighter just seems smarter to me, especially after seeing how the frames broke on all the bikes on Long Way Down/Around.. but then an even better idea would be a Beta 500. The biggest part of going to somewhere like Morocco is, what if you need parts? How are you going to find them? I absolutely HATE 360 cams.. the way they are so fish eyed and make everything look weird, the way they suddenly whip around.. I can't stand watching any video that has footage from those things in it.
