It's taken me till now to watch this video. I'm so envious as I was meant to ride it this year but had to postpone it to next year. It looks better than I can imagine.

So the Japanese drive like you Brits & Aussies, on the lefthand side of the road. I didn't know that :)

Josh, I always look forward to your videos over and down here in Silver City, NM, and this one did not disappoint. On this one I enjoyed what seemed to be a growing variety of camera angles, but have to wonder, how do you quickly get the GoPro off of your bars/stem and into the hand? Some slick magnetic mount? Also, it looked like you had it helmet mounted at some point (which looked real nice), but didn't see a mount strapped to your helmet. Oh, and which GoPro were you using? Muchas gracias from an aspiring bike GoPro'er

I have 2 GoPro’s, one fixed in the bars and another handheld which I keep in my pocket. Although this time I also used a mouth mount on the pocket go pro.

Yup! I have been living here for donkeys' years and it's a great place to ride, I am surprised that so few cyclists visited to ride... and it can be so cheap compared to the UK nowadays! I did Lejog last year and I was amazed at the prices of food, accommodation, etc compared to here.@@joshibbett

Thank you for capturing your adventure Josh. How would you compare prices for food, accommodation etc to Europe? It looked very easy to pick up decent food and re-supply, I just wondered about the costs? Japan looks like a very interesting place to visit and ride, also seems to have a very cool, slightly underground, bike culture. Cheers!

I'd say it's pretty similar to Europe, maybe slightly cheaper. However the biggest expense is getting there in the first place

Love your videos Josh. I never seem to have the discipline to keep filming! Do you just used a GoPro freehanded, or do you have any mounts?

I tend to use 2 GoPros, one on the bars which I can hit record on at a moments notice and then one in my pocket usually with a hand mount, although this time I experimented with a mouth mount

Hi josh - great video . I’m interested in biking all or part of this route myself on a bike pack trip. Wondering if you could share the route specifics - on strava / garmin / gpx / ride with gps . Thanks

Do you always apply the vulcanising glue to dynaplugs or just on stubborn stuff that won't seal? I've not yet had to use anything other than the plugs but I do carry superglue just in case.

Obviously I've watched your pack list video too. That's where this comment was meant for! 😅
@joshibbett
@joshibbett 6 ай бұрын
Yep tend to always use the glue as it just makes for a more permanent repair and saves the hassle of having to replug further down the line especially if the repair is going to be in contact with the road a lot
@firsthippy
@firsthippy 6 ай бұрын
Thanks. I might have a think about swapping out the superglue (which I've also never used) for some vulcanising glue then. Knowing me, I'll keep both. @@joshibbett
