great video. To nitpick - 13litres of fuel is only about 9.75 kgs. It's about 3/4 the density of water (which IS 1kg =1litre)

I bought a 2019 DR650 4 months ago . I took a rider safety course and passed it so now I just have to go and get my license from the DMV after passing the written test . I haven't even taken out for a spin yet . My work is a massive grind and that has to change a bit . I have to go and start her up , she's been sitting for 2 months without being started . Hope she starts . I'd ride it if I didn't have this flu . But for now I just want to hear her purr . She can roar later . Saving up for a dream trip down under with it . You guys have the best places I've seen to just ride and ride until you can't ride anymore . Very blessed you are with that . Take care now and have a wonderful Merry Christmas .

I got my license with a dr too :). Did you mod it yet? Changing the front sprocket is a really good one. Feels a lot more responsive and less luggy

Nice one Mark, god your little dogs entertaining, the little bugger kept on drawing my eye's across the it while I was watching you, ended up watching the dog a couple of times, good video buddy, good job you realised your mistake, RSM8.

Hey Guys, just trying to work out the weight of the DR650 with the modifications I've made compared to the stock DR650. Hope you enjoy :-) Cheers... Mark

I wish we could get these in the UK. For the torque/ power/ ability versus weight they cannot be beat. Nearest we have is XT660 R's but they are 181 KG as standard.

Now I have to figure out how to do this on the cheap! Excellent job. I was really surprised that all those mods wouldn’t pork it up.

Great video mark. Very interesting about the weights cool that the mods haven't really affected the bike too much. That is a big bloody tank now ! 36L!
@JustTex9 жыл бұрын
The dog was funny at 10:54 . So that means the safari tank holds 35.2 litres, it's interesting that the tank gets bigger. I'm no eggspert but I would think that the plastic walls of the tank would get harder over time not thicker.But you were right about the tank getting bigger so your probably right. I like the way you work through shit, interesting. Cheers

spectacular the bike, where can I buy those accessories, the chair, gas tank, handlebar, rear grill, how much do they cost?
@dprider029 жыл бұрын
Pretty cool that you haven't really changed the bike's weight much, other than the additional fuel that is. Also pretty wild that your 30 liter Safari tank is actually holding 36 liters now! Loving the little dog's antics, btw :-)
@BikerBits9 жыл бұрын
G'day mate, yeah it really surprised me about the weight! When searching the web it seems to be normal to get 36 litres in the tank after a while of having it (BONUS) Cheers... Mark

Good one Mark. As always, your glaring inaccuracies (regarding fuel weights) have me yelling at my screen. I'm glad I'm not the only one. BTW, why don't you just put a scale in front of each tyre and simply roll the bike on? I wish I could stop watching your videos, but they're just too good. Love ya work.

Thanks for the video! We're thinking next time you might be able to hook up a spare piece of fuel hose to the petcock and run that directly into the fuel container when draining the tank instead of having to hold the funnel the whole time. Just a thought. Oh, and Elizabeth says, "I like Nay's nails!" Thanks again for the video!
@BikerBits9 жыл бұрын
G'day guys, yeah much better idea to have a hose! I'll pass on the complement to Nay :-) Cheers... Mark

A gallon of fuel is 6 lbs and gallon of water is 8.4 lbs here in Canada ..maybe your weights are different cause your on the bottom of this big blue marble and it flows up lol.
@ChaoticDetour9 жыл бұрын
Sorry to burst your bubble but water weighs more than petrol. Water weights 8.3 pounds per US gallon vs gas is 6.3 pounds per US gallon. So the petrol difference is 2.8 kg instead of the 3.7 kg. Still like you said that is very nice considering all the work you have done to it. Eager to hear about the suspension upgrades.

13 litres of fuel equates to 9.4kg. Specific gravity isn’t 1:1, it’s litres x 0.72....

YES 1 Liter of water weighs 1 Kilo but I don't know if 1 Liter of gasoline weighs 1 Kilo . Does any one know if water and gasoline have the same density and or molecular weight . OK I just looked it up 1 Liter of gasoline weighs 0.75 Kilos .
