I like them. There's a lot of resistance from traditionalists, but I think this is probably how Lambrettas would have looked if they'd kept on producing like Piaggio did with Vespas. I think they've captured the essence of Lambretta beautifully, especially with the latest models

I had a Lambretta back in the 60's when I was living in England. It was a great scooter. It left most of the Vespa's behind and it could handle better for me than the Vespa, because the wheels and wheel base were bigger, the front had forks and the engine was positioned in the middle, not to one side like the Vespa. The vespa looked great and today it is considered the iconic scooter, even so, the Lambretta was the love of my life. To me the Lambretta had more class and I would be seen like many others in a suite and umbrella one my Lambretta. (I even wore a Bowler Hat sometimes) The Mini killed the Lambretta because it was a very cheap car and more and more people were moving away from scooters as the economy was getting better. I heard that when Lambretta stopped making scooters they went into designing small car like the Mini. I would often dream of them coming back, but having a larger motor like a 250CC motor, so they could cruise at 100kph. (60mph).

Richard, I missed this comment a year ago, sorry. Love the story. We will have a restoration series next year on the late Richard Collins (one of our contributors and a friend) Lambretta Li150 Special 1959. I am going to restore it for his wife, as he didn't get to finish it off. Jeff.

@@BikeReviewcomau Saw one of the more modern Lambretta's down in Melbourne a few weeks ago. I think it was one of the 2018 reissues. When it took off at the traffic lights in front of tall he cars it just powered away. Back in the 60's they were definitely ahead of any other scooter.

I have had many very big bikes and pillion = wrestling match. Our V125 Special handles one up, or two exactly the same! Very remarkable, very easy to ride!

Good Modern lambretta for today. Some people say buy a Vespa but the Vespa today is totally different to the iconic sixties version and nobody seems to be bothered by that. They are all similar underneath, even Vespa. Then you will hear “buy a classic lambretta if you want a lambretta, why?,you think they are better😆😆😆,don’t kid yourself. The simple thing is if you don’t like them don’t buy one, then. After all, who’s forcing you to and if someone likes them why try to put them off with your opinion, like arse holes, everyone has one.

I'm thinking of getting one of these in a few weeks time. But I cannot find much online about how reliable the new lambrettas are. Do you know.

I have just looked at the learner requirements for most states in Oz. I am right in thinking you can start riding on a bike 660cc or less (power to one side for the moment)?

I bought one after many years with all types of scooters. Here's what I found... The floor well/ seat height ratio is way too short making the pelvis sink lower than the knee point. This places too much pressure on the sacrum/tail bone long term. Refer to Jeff in the video at the end where he's seated on the bike. Anyone taller than 5 ft 8inch will probably have the same problem. As Jeff mentioned, the width of the scoot ironically makes the scoot too wide for most people to straddle it with their feet on the ground comfortably despite the low seat height. It has a weird ergonomic set up. LOTS of vibes as mentioned, flat set speedo very difficult to see whilst riding with a full face. The seat is perforated and NOT WATERPROOF. A major oversight for what is supposed to be a commuter. It's basically a reskinned/styled SYM scooter with Lambretta badges and metal work over chassis. It's not any different mechanically from the SYM. Too many niggles for me, I sold it within 3 months.

Can you recommend anything for someone 6.2? Vespas rust badly

Hi Chris, depending on engine capacity there'e quite a few you might want to check for yourself as far as fit goes hat will probably suit a taller rider. Honda's SH 150 immediately springs to mind. (flat footwell without a the rearward taper) it also places you nice and upright, has a decent seat height to floor ratio for people with longer legs and it's revered in Europe as an excellent choice in the sub 250cc class. You might also want to check Honda's new ATV 150 although I haven't ridden that model. Try taking a closer look at a Piaggio's Medley and Beverly, they had the taller rider in mind obviously the moment you see and sit on them in person... Aprilia use to make the "Sports City" which was another well designed model in 125/150cc, 200, 250 and 300cc. Discontinued now but there may be some floating around used. Vespa's don't generally rust unless owners live close to the coast and never wash their bikes and or leave them sitting outside in most of their lives. Agree, that there are many poor examples on the used market re corrosion. Finally, a Kymco People 150 might fit you well so take a look at one of those. Personally I'd stick to the Japanese and Italian brands though.

Not at all my experience. I'm 6'1 and have absolutely no problem on this little scoot. It's a joy to ride and puts a smile on my face everytime I jump on.

In 60s and 70s lambretta and Vespa ruled the roads in India while now Japanese Honda is the king of the road while Italian scooter companies despite high brand value are hesitant to enter into indian market

So it's really a 150, not a 200. 90kph is not very fast. Wish they would make one which offers a real midway between a 125 and a 300.

What an absolutely horrific looking beast...twist and go? to hell mind you...nothing like the sexy, sleek and ultra mod racer it was in the 60's with the Li 150 series 3, TV 175 or even a serveta jett 200...these were scooters that made the girlies squeal and the rockers mad!!! but Oi' we all cannot be the Ace Face now can we😎 Without Gears and steel, Man cannot be expected to live on plastic alone great video tho, nice production and visually entertaining...

Canada is doing you a favour. It's not worth buying. Better off with a vintage Lambretta or just get a Vespa. This is a SYM Like 200 underneath the facade.

I don't know how much Vespas are where you live, but this scooter cost $2K less than a 150cc Vespa in my neck of the woods. And it's Taiwanese, not Chinese. Not the same thing by a long shot.

kabardinka1 In my country Lambretta 125 has more ot less same price as Vespa 125. I know that Lambretta is based on SYM Fiddle 3 and SYM is company from Taiwan. But also SYM and Kymco from Taiwan are making some of their cheaper components in China. Is it worth the money they are asking? For example SYM Fiddle with same engine and gearbox cost half a money of Lambretta.

Get your facts right ,its not a lambretta ,it`s actually a SYM Fiddle scooter with a different body ,Innocenti SA are nothing to do with the original Innocenti .This is a heap built to use the Lambretta badge ,if you did any actual reading up about Lambretta you`d see that Scooters india limited still own the rights ,Innocenti SA are a load of swiss buisness men that used legal back door arrangments to use the name
