menderus I agree but I also think if you truly want change then you can quit on your own. I quit doing cocaine in my teens. All because I wanted to do it. I didnt ask for help, I knew I wanted better for me and had my mind set. Thats the difference, these people tend to give up.

The reason I almost never give money to homeless ppl is bc one time my brothers friend was at a smoke shop and he saw a homeless man walk in and say hey what's going on mike I made a couple extra dollars today so looks like I'm buying 2 packs of cigs today pretty fucked up

The first clip when I went to Bloomington we had food from White Castle and I seen a homeless man left and we passed him and I wanted to give him food and tell him to be brave but my mom said no this was at least a year ago

I used to give my allowance to homeless people and didn't think twice then about three or four times in a row I watched them go into a liquor store and come out with alcohol, even one with two kids sitting there and still did it. I AM NOT SAYING ALL PEOPLE DO THIS FYI. But that is why I stopped giving directly to the homeless and started donating to my local food drive. I personally respect the homeless. As long as they aren't complete meth heads and judge me as you will on that last one.

I'm only 15 but I'm inspired to go out there and help. It pains me to see people shunned by people who think they are better and choose NOT to help. I feel like a hypocrite because I know I did those things. But I have realized that I can change not only my life.. But someone else's life by showing I care. We all can. So. my problem is, 2/3 homeless persons in my country, are fake just to earn money, numerous times I've seen homeless people asking for money, but only money, if you try to give them food or anything to drink, they just refuse and say they want money, some get agressive. 1 time I've even seen one, after the stores closed, drive away with her family in a BMW X5, these people here are exploiting the right to beg. Hence why I do not help homeless people unless I know their background through someone else.

I remember I saw some $20 on the ground when i was 15, this man, in ragged clothes came over and took it. But when he saw me, he gave it to me and told me that I have a future. So I took that money and some aditional bux, and bought him a phone with two year prepaid service. I never saw a more happier child of God

I have a lot of respect for the homeless. I almost joined them 15 years ago. Luckily I landed on my feet. But it was close back then. There was a guy a few years ago with a sign that said I need beer money. He was honest, so I gave him beer money. I respect that kind of honesty.

I hand out water and granola bars. I can't give money anymore because I've seen on too many occurrences of people who were standing on the side of the road take off their dirty jackets (clean cloths underneath) and get into a super nice car and drive off.

People seem to not understand that homeless people are still human just like the rest of us. Yes there are people that are tricking the system but focus on the ones that truly need the help. Even a smile, a meal, and a little chat can help brighten up their day. I made it a habit that every payday I walk around and help out a few people and to sit down and talk with them. Seeing their face brighten up with a smile when having someone treat them with kindness is worth a few minutes of my time
