Scott MTB haben viele gute Seiten. Aber was nützt das, wenn man durch die Einfachschaltung limitiert ist. Eine Bandbreite 500% bei den 12-fach Sram Schaltungen ist viel zu eng. Es mag für Wettkämpfe mit kurzen Runden und Distanzen gut sein. Für die Vielzahl der Hobby- und Tourenfahrer und potentiellen Käufer sind die Einfachschaltungen mit extremer Kettenschräge ein gewaltiger Rückschritt und ein Handicap. In Mittelgebirgen wie dem Schwarzwald fehlen Berggänge für steile 25% Rampen und schnelle Gänge für die Ebene. Das neue Genius ist auch kein Leichtgewicht, das 910 wiegt in der S Größe 13.3 kg. Der trainierte Hobbyfahrer mit Rucksack ist damit bei 17% Steigung am Ende und auf der Ebene kommt er nicht über 23 km/h hinaus. Eine Bandbreite der Gänge von 600% ist für ein Allmountainbike absolut notwendig, um überhaupt als ein solches fahrbar zu sein. Das funktioniert bei Kettenschaltungen derzeit nur mit mindestens Zweifach-Kurbeln. Shimano hat reagiert, indem sie 3x11-fach Kurbeln 22-30-40 mit Umwerfer auf dem Markt preiswert anbieten. Sram hat sich behelfsmässig mit einer Monsterkassette 10-50 vorläufig beholfen. Hier schleift man dann den Umwerfer auf der Erde hinterher. Fazit: Die derzeitigen Einfachschaltungen sind teuer bezahlter Murks.

Did Scott also introduce Scale's top-tier models? On video I can see only 4 mid-range Scales on the video.

Oh! They removed the E-Scale models. No more choosing between the "best" E-Aspect and the "worst" E-Scale which had almost identical specs. Maybe there was some geometry difference but I wouldn't notice. The 2019 (non-E) Scale models seem to go from 990 to 910. That gives them a huge spectrum of specs and prices. I would guess Scale 990 will be 900$ and Scale 910 will be 3900$. Scale 910 will have SRAM GX level components. It's the same as a Spark 920 without the rear suspension. Better components than Spark 930-960. Cool changes!
