I tip my lid to you Kate, there's not much more miserable than a motorcycle in the rain, long distance on motorways, it flips everything about motorcycling on it's head and makes it a chore, but you got to the dry weather and you remember that there's motorcycling and then there's everything else.👍

A hint, Swan Neck adjustable clipons. Lower the pegs about 30mm and your body will appreciate it. A one-way valve in the engine breather also helps remove crankcase pressure increases.

Looks like a fun adventure, I'm sorry that you had to cut it short. I think those engines are known to leak at the base gasket. I had to repair my Monster 620 for the same reason. They're almost the same engine. I was able to complete the repair without removing the engine. I'm sure Mike could do it in a weekend. The base gasket was not very expensive. Good luck.

I was quoted 2000 euros to fix at a dealership because of their availability and sourcing old parts. We got it home and have fixed it for the cost of a gasket set. WOW ! Im sorry if it was your truly dream bike you wouldn't give it away i know you wouldn't, because I will never part with my DREAM BIKE MY DUCATI 750SPORT DUCATIDESMODOE i.e. O2 reg , i bought it brand-new from South Croydon Ducati center in 2002. Unfortunately for me i cant ride mine because I'm to FAT probably about five stone to fat. My Beautiful Ducati was a Limited edition Mat Black Limited to 100 and it was the 100 bike sold. I just want to say one thing about the wet conditions, at the time i went to pick my Ducati up from South Croydon i belive it was in August 2002, at the time i lived in Manchester, it ended up being the wettest August day for about 50 years. Everybody told me worst Bike to buy only suitable in the med, prone to problems in wet weather. The only problem I had with the torrential rain was what i was wearing my two peace Wolf Race Leathers, spung comes to mind very cold Spung i stopped of at a few mottorway services to get warm on the way back. The Ducati never faulterd their were broken down bikes all along my route to Manchester. Iv driven her in Sun, Rain and Snow never ever had a problem. Nicx
