BIKING ACROSS IOWA 🚲 RAGBRAI 2022 DAY 1

FYI. On the first day you rode past the highest point in Iowa. Geography wise. Iowa is separated at roughly US highway 30 north and south fir the forward advance of the last glacier period. The ice acted like a super sized bull dozer over the landscape. Then came more than 10 thousand years of tall grass prairie with associated grazing animals for composting and manure. Result is deep rich black loam soils that average 5 to 6 feet down. USDA prime farm ground

Thanks for your honest impressions. I've thought about that ride after watch some other videos, but am not sure I would want to be around that many people. What would the daily cost be?

There’s definitely a lot of people but a lot of times it thins out and you can have some time away from the crowds. As for cost, you can go as cheap or expensive as you want!

How did you find a camping spot with your Dad ?

Because dad was our support driver he drove ahead to the overnight town and picked out a spot for us! We were really lucky in that we got to stay pretty close to him in each town!
