He wasn’t deciding to keep it a secret, but it is easy to say “let’s sleep on it” before making any immediate decisions. I think the main reason he hesitated was the effect it would have on his sister’s kids. Yes, he should still tell, cause despite loving his nieces as an uncle they are still his sister’s kid to decide what they should know and what’s best for them. It is still hard to decide clearly what to do with a bomb when you never worked with one and never expected to come across one. And his BIL’s confession was a bombshell. Now if he waited a few days- weeks even, then there is something wrong with his level of honesty.

Story 1: Man, imagine being so conceited and full of yourself to think you're such a "playa". That ex-BIL is not only conceited, but also a coward, cause you would think that if he wanted to woo OP's wife, he would put in more effort to make himself more attractive rather than "settle" just to get close. The fact he still tried to sling dirt on OP cause he got the catch he wanted speaks volumes of his narcissism. Like a lot of these stories, my advice is simple: put some physical distance, cause narcissists like him will keep coming back, persistent in their objectives.

If you are in a relationship and you have feelings for a taken woman especially if she is taken by a member of your family or close friend you keep that nonsense to yourself and you suffer in silence either till the end of told or until that relationship is over. And then you do the one of the following. A. Work on your relationship and stop taking your significant other for granted. Never forget what they do for your life. B. If you can’t do A then Break up or divorce your significant other because you clearly don’t love them enough to be faithful to them. Confessing your feelings always comes with an intent to get together which means he was trying to interfere with her relationship and hurt OP. When marriages are involved confessions are never innocent.

I hate it when men mistake my kindness for flirting. Even when I explain that I'm happily married they are still convinced they have a chance. I used to think men and women could be friends. But after 3 "friends" trying to end my relationship of 15 years I no longer trust men other than my husband of course so I know exactly how OP'S wife feels. I'm so tired of men not respecting my marriage and all I see when I see men being "friendly" with me now are creeps trying to get into my pants and I just feel angry and disgusted. This is why I don't communicate or hang out with any guys outside of work without their or my significant other present. If I need to text them I have my bf do it on my behalf. If we are taking pictures I make sure to never stand next to them. After having too many 'guy friends' try to push me for something more and too many women viewing me as a threat to their relationship IT IS JUST NOT WORTH IT.

My uncle did this to my Mom It was my dad's sister's husband. They were in-laws for years and so he comes by and asks her to have dinner with him. Halfway into dinner he asks her to run away with him. My mom was divorced from my father. He was still married to my aunt. Okay… not sure why I have to say this, but do not get your cheating spouse and their coworker/AP fired until AFTER the divorce is final. Alimony is based on your relative wages when you file, and your cheating spouse being unemployed kind of skews that calculation against you. Also, going scorched earth like that really makes some people want to delay the process out of spite. Once the divorce is final, and you’ve gotten everything you can… then go scorched earth.
