So for Gilbert’s syndrome: It is said to have not many symptoms however, that is different for everyone! I have Gilbert’s myself and I have quite a few symptoms which then go on and affect other things. Many GPs don’t know about it. Check out Gilbert’s syndrome pages on Facebook, people comment and ask for advice every day or ask about symptoms and anyone can clearly see, it’s not asymptomatic

Gilbert's syndrome absolutely has symptoms. Feeling sick/dizzy/stomach pain/fatigue/yellowing of skin or eyes, while bilirubin levels are raised. Bilirubin levels raise with triggers like stress, lack of sleep, vigorous exercise, alcohol, meat and dairy.

Really nicely done, worth noting, however, the important thing about Dubin Johnson is that you wind up with a black liver because of the pigmented lysosomal epinephrine deposits. That's usually how it's tested.

Another key thing to remember to differentiate Dubin-Johnson and Roter syndromes is the presence of urine coproporphyrin. If you see urine coproporphyrin with conjugated hyperbilirubinemia then its Roter, otherwise think DJ.

Whilst Gilbert's cause no symptoms for the majority of people with the condition, for the unfortunate few, it causes some very unpleasant symptoms - have a look at one or two of the youtube videos from patients.
