But what if he had chosen to prioritize Frank in his life? This is what is told in this BEAUTIFUL and spectacularly well-made episode that stands out in many aspects in relation to the game. @@efgraginWell to be fair, we know the option of taking his own exit isn’t something completely out of character for Frank, given what he did in TLOU the game. I think the character who was changed the most by the show is definitely Bill, but honestly it’s a change I can see being realistic with the same starting point, he’s two iterations of the same character, but with each iteration making different choices leading them to different endpoints. Most people still have many things they wanted to do when their times come. Regrets to make right, people or places to visit, even just having a last glass of wine with a loved one. Most don't get to do these things, but these two, in their own way, were able to live AND end their lives on their own terms. Doing that in reality, in our world, is difficult. Doing that in the world they're in? They may be the only ones ever able to again. I loved how they changed their characters from the game. History will favor those who are willing to accept others for who they are, even if theyre different. We dont have to hate. Im not gay, but I dont have any animosity towards anyone who is. And guess what? Im also Christian! Who cares. God doesnt care. He forgave us on the cross. If people are condemned for being gay then Jesus died for nothing. Anyone who doesnt get that is just using their faith as a pass for their ignorance and bigotry. This episode was beautiful. It reminded me also why I loved The Road. Not hard to figure out. The whole show was a play by play of the cut scenes in the game except this one. Good old kneel Cuckmann in virtue signaling because he's woke and had to let the world know how virtuous and open minded he is. Then all the band wagon jumpers did the same.

@LoudaroundLincoln, I'm pretty sure it had to do with virtue signaling. Which is a fact. This is the only episode that completely swayed from cut scenes in the video. Instead of Frank being dead and Joel ellie and Bill going through town getting weapons and a battery, we got a graphic gay sex scene. Bills Town, btw is my favorite part of the game, and I give two crops about him being gay bit you neither you nor anybody else is gonna stop me from calling out the obvious

Diving into these comments is a quick reminder on how toxic The Last of Us fandom is. The writers strike delayed season 2 but damn I am not eager to see the reactions to what assuredly will be an amazing unique retelling and expansion to the second games story. So many crap excuses for homophobia coming from "the true fans of the game" they know better than the director of the game and tv show, they know better on how stories and screenwriting are supposed to be done, and they know gays are yucky and stories with boys kissing are gross. So stoked to have these trogladytes back when season 2 airs...

Did not expect this episode in the series, but I'm so glad they chose this direction. Such a beautiful story of two people who found each other in the most dire of circumstances, and their love carried them through the years until it was over. Adapting a game into live action is pretty easy, but it takes guts to put a gay love story into your funus zombie story, and real talent all around to pull off as masterful an episode of television as this.
