You need to look into the facts the media made this bigger than it was. The practice was legal and done 5 months before they got in trouble. Mangini didn’t know if they used it on them which they didn’t he just said something about it when they were coming up to play to prepare and it was the higher ups who told him it was illegal. I don’t blame him either. The cameras are allowed just only at certain parts. If it was as bad as they made it out BB would’ve been fired.

Lol so much misinformation on this case, like a few people have said. The issues wasn't the video tapping, cause everyone was doing that. The issues was the location of the tapping. Which was deemed illegal, by the NFL. Minded you it was deemed illegal after the fact. No where in the rule book did it say that you couldn't tape in those locations. But the commissioner felt like he had to hand down a punishment. Well to put everyone at ease, so it wouldn't seem like he was letting them off the hook. It's that simple people, you would think people would get it right by now.

Prince Nurse very close and I appreciate someone speaking facts. They were caught in a place they weren't supposed to be filming from, a letter was sent by the NFL to all teams saying you can no longer film from the sidelines. The Patriots were caught again, and the camera crew lied saying they were from Kraft Film Productions. And that is why they were penalized

You can tape signals, you just can't have the cameraman on the sidelines. That's what they got nailed for, having the cameraman on the sideline (a better look at the signals). If you know what plays they are calling, you can adjust your offense accordingly to exploit the coverages. DeflateGate was definitely a real thing, no matter how many of you at-home junior scientists say it wasn't. People forget that the issue was flagged to Indianapolis because Baltimore witnessed the same thing. It may have not had a significant impact against the Colts, but I'm sure it did against the Ravens being that game was a shootout, lots of passes and catches that game. Their legacy is tainted, and you have to know with as many scandals they've had, there are bound to be more that we'll never know about. The cheating most definitely can make a franchise this successful, especially with the amount of cheating they've done. Tainted organization, tainted reputation, and an obvious lack of character from the New England Patriots.

Spygate was filming from the wrong location within the stadium. Nearly a decade later, idiots are still unaware that the actual act of filming practices was legal throughout the league. The Patriots' cameras were simply closer to the field than a recent NFL memo had allowed at the time. What was always a misdemeanor defense was blown up by the media by a commissioner with deep ties to NE's rival NYJets. It is nearly inconceivable to me the amount of laziness journalists and fans have put forth into this topic before claiming so boldly that the most disciplined organization in the NFL accomplished everything they have because of a minor rule infraction dwarfed by infractions from EVERY NFL TEAM IN THE LEAGUE. People believe the narratives they want that makes them feel better about their inferior franchises. The lack of integrity is disgusting. As for deflategate, that incident was already scientifically refuted by minds orders of magnitude above the armchair physicists blindly spouting unsubstantiated rumors from butthurt organizations like Baltimore and Indy who, in addition to themselves cheating, had a prior history of accusing the Patriots of wrongdoing. So sad that haters will use rumors and gossip as rebuttals against the exoneration of the deflategate allegations via the ideal gas law and the atmospheric conditions of the balls that day. These people simply do. not. care. I can't imagine ever feeling so sorry about by team's performance that I tried running a hypocritical smear campaign throwing stones from within my glass house. It's not rampant insecurity, it's just that Belichick has been in the NFL for more than twice as long as most other coaches and people from the NFL office (since 1975), so he pretty much acts like the high school senior with no regard for the rules at this point. He knows exactly the letter of the rules, knows exactly what is enforced and what isn't, because he's seen it over 42 years, and he will pretty much exploit anything that the league won't enforce because he feels entitled to. Saying Belichick is not great because he cheated is like saying Barry Bonds or Roger Clemens are not great because they were on the juice. The fact is the NFL implemented rules because EVERYONE was cheating one way or another. Shannon Sharp just admitted as much by saying they would tape the games to get verbal signal calls to learn which formation to get into when Junior would call X play. People cheat when they realize everyone is doing it. Period. Goodell sent the memo to 32 teams for a reason. Let us not forget that. And let us not forget that the Partriots went 15-0 the next year after Spy Gate. Spygate does not mean that BB is not a good coach. As does Barry Bonds using the juice mean he was not a great baseball player. If Mangini was such a Saint he would have turn BB in when he was coaching for the Patriots OR before BB taped him. He's feeling's were hurt, that's the reason he did it, not because he was a good person. Period! Full stop!

Deflating the football mainly helps with ball security. You can grip the ball better, thus decreasing the chance of fumbling the football or dropping a pass.

Deflated ball is easier to grip which means it's harder to fumble which means a runner can focus more on running and not ball security. Not saying it would have had an outcome on the game cause the Colts were not going to beat the Pats regardless, but just because they ran the ball doesnt mean there wasnt an advantage.

Yeah, this video became a joke at about the 6:30 mark. Now they're letting their imaginations run wild with grandiose schemes of cheating. And as for their claim that other teams accept punishments for cheating? What was Denver's response to accusations of salary cap shaving? What was New Orleans' response to accusations of bounties?... Oh right, they said, "PROVE IT!!" Pumping crowd noise into the stadium receives a small punishment, so naturally the team will fess up. But shaving the cap, Spygate and Bountygate all involved fines, losing picks, and (in the case of the Saints) suspensions. So let's not pretend like teams don't all react the same to accusations of cheating.

He's one of the best ever, but not the best. Lombardi and Landry outdo him. Landry changed the way football was played. He is the mastermind of the 4-3 and most of the teams run a 4-3 or a variation of it. He was a champion and changed football, and a lot of coaches have emulated him.
