Cracked me up when Bill mocked Joe by telling him, "this sounds great to me but you're also a standup comedian, and you don't have a white lab coat on, and I'm sitting here like, okay Dr. Rogan." He's done this on numerous occasions when Joe starts talking about things like it's fact simply because he read some article somewhere. LOL. Bill is the best.

Our CF gym makes you go through weeks of foundational training before you can do an actual workout and even then, many novice people just do the bar or scale back to something they are comfortable with. Unfortunately CFHQ does not have quality control when it comes to their affiliate gyms and so you get wildly different experiences at each and every location and with that comes bad training, coaching, and programming but that is not dissimilar to other franchised businesses.@@alexmarkelov7339

This was hilarious and informative.. it’s sad that many adults don’t even know what cholesterol is. When I worked in dietetics at a hospital, most patients just thought it’s this “bad thing” in your blood work but their understanding stop there. It’s essentially the building blocks of hormones. Like amino acids are to protein. For most people, if you are not taking care of yourself and maintaining muscle mass as you age, many types of hormone production slow, and cholesterol isn’t being converted to hormones at the threshold the body has been used to in the past. It’s like a home builder stocking up on building materials when demand for housing is at a record low (as if that would ever happen but hopefully the analogy works). Anyway, keep making this stuff. It’s great 🙌

The fingerboard training that rock climbers do seems to help with your abs and core for that front lever exercise you are trying to do. But it probably depends upon your fitness level. somehow when you are crimping your fingers you tighten other muscles in order to apply the force to your fingers. It seems to make the pull-ups and everything else easier after your grip and forearms get stronger. Also for that extended leg exercise the finger boards come with Jug holds sometimes. holding jugs make that leg extension move a little easier and more natural because you aren't slipping. You're thinking about your abs but it might be your grip failing and your forearms failing to apply the force to your abs. Right now you could be doing nothing for your abs because the muscles closer to your hands and the bar are failing first. The grip strength is super functional and you can train that forever.

the problem with most bodyweight exercises is they don't provide enough stimulus for long term growth. if you're an untrained beginner you'll probably see some nice gains from BW only exercises, but there's not really a good way to progressively overload them over time so once your body adapts it stalls out

His point is expertise actually has value and meaning. People who spend years studying stuff tend to know it a lot better then people reading 1 or two articles. Expertise has actual value and meaning. Too many people these days run their mouths about shit they have 0 expertise in. Like Rogan 100% expertise in stand up comedy and MMA…pretty much anything else he is outside his area of knowledge. Same with Chomski…brilliant linguist, but when he starts talking geopolitics he is talking out his ass. Jordon Peterson is a smart psychologist…but when he starts talking about economics he is talking out of his ass, with a few articles. Liberal and conservative talking heads all do it. They talk about shit they have no expertise in after reading a few articles. That’s bills point.

@@davidradtke160 I understand his point. But that's also what experts are there for, to inform the rest of us, so that we don't need to specialise in specific things just to understand whatever's going on. An expert might take years coming up with a conclusion but once he has, it's possible for laymen to understand it, especially cuz experts have layed all the nitty gritty out for us to see making it easy to comprehend 'cause the hard part of figuring it out has been done. But according to people like Bill, I'm not allowed to repeat that information unless I'm in that line of work... No

Its not that you cant have an educated opinion, its just that people should be sceptical of what other people are telling them, especially when they have no formal education in that subject. Its easy af to read a study, yet i see people constantly misinterpreting them, constantly misquoting them, and constantly cherry picking ones that support their argument. Unless ive read into the subject myself im going to try and refrain from agreeing or disagreeing heavily with what someone says.

Here's another conspiracy theory. A Russian guy named Lenin, some hundred+ y.a., wrote in his books that our society is a class society consisting of two social-economic classes: the ruling class-of property owners, and the oppressed class-of hired workers. So, in class society, Lenin wrote, every aspect of life is ruled by the ruling class and/or affected by the force of the property ownership, the capital. That includes science of course. So, essentially, this guy Lenin, far in Russia, by saying that everything is a commodity, everything is marketable, predicted that the sugar industry in USA would pay off the scientists to put the blame on cholesterol long before it happened.
