Forget the chips. Don't they demand your phone number for pretty much everything? You know how easy it is to know your location by your phone number? Even without the assistance of your phone, the cell network always knows the tower you are being served by, and that tower knows roughly the distance to you and your speed. They simply can't function properly without this information.
@walkingweapon8 жыл бұрын
If you're in range of 3 towers you can be triangulated very accurately. I think you need 3 towers to get a signal don't you? You definitely need 3 satellites for gps because that's exactly how it gets your position, using trigonometry.
@kaktotak82678 жыл бұрын
Nick M No, your mobile is only served by 1 tower at a time. Well, in 4G it can only be 1 tower at a time. With previous generations a mobile can be served by 2 towers simultaneously in some cases, but afaik never more than that. Regarding triangulation, it is one of the methods of determining your positions, but it has 2 complications: 1. In LTE (4G), the network relies on the mobile to collect information about the quality of connection with other towers. It doesn't do it by itself. With previous generations, afaik, the network can do it by itself, but I can't say for sure. 2. In urban environments it is difficult to get a precise estimation of the distance by a radio signal due to the fact that the path of the signal can be very complicated. Although this problem can be bypassed to some extent if the area was mapped in advance and different locations were correlated with their signal properties.
@jc.11913 жыл бұрын
@@kaktotak8267 the data is still there from the towers you aren't using. Plus it pings nearby wifi and all. And yeah, the consumer gps is restricted from military precision. You get like 50 ft, or yards or something.

The dude has a point though, even though he definitely chose the wrong angle for that and stressed differences that may not be that big. But Americans are more scared of stuff on average. Just look up what Americans who moved to a European place say about that. And yes, there's many nuances. Not every place in Europe has relaxed people and many people in the U.S. are relaxed as hell. But there definitely is more fear in general in the U.S., which makes sense in a very individualised and divided society with fear-mongering media.

Bill the shit they get is cheaper. Since the products they are selling are so elastic, a corporation could make a lot more buy selling for less. Selling for less does not equal making less money.

They're doing things that raise average ticket, or average revenue per period. If there's two sales, a certain percentage of people will buy more items instead of the normal one for example. I'm a manager, I'm used to having to track the data, and improve it.

While I think the author is a bit smug, and referring to all of Europe is quite wrong. But I’m also quite sure he’s meaning the more developed parts of Europe is more relaxed. Russia is barely Europe. South and east has always been more unstable zones that most people don’t think is the prime example of “Europe”, which is usually more referring to Western European countries. Yes it’s all Europe. But it’s in a similar manner of how “Asia” is all of east, south east, India, Pakistan, Middle East etc. but hardly anyone consider Arabs as “Asian” although they technically are. Same for Indian, etc. “Asia” usually only refers to south east and east Asia.

A lot of Europeans here say Bill is proving the stereotype in this video, and yet they’re proving the stereotype of arrogance in this comment section. So in conclusion, Americans are slightly more paranoid than Europeans, and Europeans are more arrogant and less concerned about their individual freedom.

The reason why we know what American people are like is because (in case you forgot) the US was a superpower until you basically sold your country to China. Your shows reach Europe in large amounts, and you're all over social media and youtube. Gee, I wonder why it is that we know what americans are like :P
@typejdavos82977 жыл бұрын
CounterNerd Have you ever been to America? The people vary so incredibly much from state to state. Trying to say you have a grasp of Americans because our shows reach you is ridiculous. Do you think most Americans are like the people from Los Angeles?(where most shows/movies are made). Do you have any idea how large the US is, allowing for a wide range of cultures, merely states apart. Europeans should actually spend some time here, before assuming you know the people. Otherwise, you just look ignorant.
