I love Bill Burr he's real just like I'm real just like many of us are real and we're not going to put up with the bullsh crap that the dummy woke cowards are pushing. The truth is the truth even though they're trying to change it and isn't it funny that the most real and factual are the most funny you have to be real and tell the truth to get some laughs. That's why I love that good comedians not like SNL that have turned into 💩💩💩💩💩...sad and pathetic. 🤢🤮🤢🤮🤮🤮🤮

The hosts didn't get "bent out of shape" at all. I like Bill Burr (don't agree with him on remotely everything, he's a conspiracy head for one thing, but well meaning and generally a decent human). I have mixed takes on Chappelle. First off he's obviously a great talent of a comic. But if we're talking his trans material, it's kind of silly to me to act like he's speaking truth to power instead of being insecure about a topic he has no frame of reference for and shitting on suicidal kids with lame surface-level jokes that sound like reddit comments from a 13 year old. I find not that the material is beyond the limits of what you can say but rather that it's just lame, for anyone who's ever met a trans person for more than five seconds, which many of us have. It rings inauthentic and out of touch. I also think personally he used his dead friend as a prop in his set to deflect criticism from literally any other trans person alive, which is...pretty fuckin shitty. I don't think comics can't do trans jokes if you actually understand anything about what you're telling jokes about--or if you do self deprecating jokes about how you are out of touch. I think if there's humility and humanity in it, it can work. I just don't get that from the "anti cancel culture" approach to trans jokes that just weaponize the issue from comics who have no frame of reference for that world. However, Dave is at his best when he talks about the Black experience from a genuine perspective that he actually understands and highlighting race in America using his master class comedy skills, 100 percent. That is him speaking his mind in a positive way that uplifts comedy and does something beyond that almost philosophical. I think for me he's a hugely talented comic who just doesn't remotely understand trans shit, so his jokes about it aren't doing anything meaningful for his audience besides riling up alt right dip fucks on Twitter. He's human, whatever. I don't hate the man. I'm just literally begging comics to meet a trans person and care about them beyond using them in your set to say every other trans person is wrong.

@horgecondaliza66442 жыл бұрын
Exactly. I never really agreed when people say “too sensitive” cause those people could do with being more sensitive, I just think it’s more of shit priorities, and distorted thinking. If making a joke about rape or whatever taboo means that your supportive said act, then that just shows a lack of insight, and self awareness, and black and white thinking, no nuance. Too sensitive I feel is trying to over simplify, but not even hitting the mark on what’s going on.

This is such revisionism. Conservatives used to complain about Elvis’s hip trust. conservatives lost their shit when Harry Belafonte had a live performance on tv with a white singer back in the 60’s and held her waist. They had a meltdown over Madonna’s like a virgin video. They tried to ban rap in the 90’s. I can go on and about all the benign things that were banned or people tried to ban back in the day. The difference now is conservatives have lost the culture war for the most part so progressive ideas are more the norm and sometimes people go overboard on that side but it’s not like conservatives aren’t doing censorship anymore. They’re still very sensitive when it comes to religion and the shallow nationalist symbols they worship
@horgecondaliza66442 жыл бұрын
@@morenitomoreno1282 I’d say the progressive side has gone way more than just a little overboard, but yea completely agree. The right only has culture wars to stoke anymore it seems, doesn’t even really focus on policy, let alone good policy, it’s “how do we screw over the dems”. And all the right wing pundits jump all over the censorship narrative to grab ahold of that demographic of people, which is quite a bit. It’s crazy to think, am insane fringe group from tumblr that’s far left leaning, and a insane fringe group from 4chan, more right leaning, are the loudest voices, and control so much of the narrative, because it lines media corps pockets, and have turned politics into political theater. I mean there has always been a performative aspect to politics, but now it’s all it seems to be, and what so many people mistake for politics.

I think it's worse than that! I'm a female and one of color and I can laugh at things that pokes fun at politics surrounding racism, feminist, religion when it focus on the Humanity/Ethics, Period!!! All are Fucked, Up & Ethics don't change due to Groups! Example, Kanye West! He wants and did use his Experience w/Race & Under served communities (Economic) for a come up and Fast Forward... Slavery was a choice and make Miracles great again and Wildlife matters etc, LoL... Jokes, but... That's my point! She's weaponizing all of her ideas of "Him" vs. The Church support her narrative, oppose to Abuse/The Real Subject! This is why I will never be woke and be a liberal at the same time! I will call you on your b******* regardless of your color religion etc when you step out of line! Especially, if you're all minority! Because I am and I can see through your b*******, Too!!! Checks in Balance Necessary in Every Community!!! Especially, Within our own Minority (Whatever..) AKA Amber Heard, Harvey Weinstein, R Kelly, Kevin Spacey...

Bill does give a shit. He gives a lot of shit, about all the stuff he talks about. Because you have to in order to make smart, clever and educated jokes. If you don't give a shit or care at all, your jokes will not even penetrate surface level, because you will not have spent enough time thinking about it to make those clear observations and come to an understanding

Many of Burr's rants start with a premise that makes you uncomfortable. I remember Dick Gregory doing this. However, I remember Gregory getting you laughing and then dropping a punch line that made you uncomfortable with what you were laughing at. Brilliant.

@@morenitomoreno1282 Opening a dialogue with, "lol wtf" is hardly the approach to a rational discussion. However, I'll attempt a response, add though you're actually interested in my perspective and not just crowing and point scoring. I'm talking about films I have seen, and what I've observed about them. I don't watch Shapiro much, I'm only really aware of the memes, but if he feels the same way, then I hope more people agree, and vote with their wallets. I feel strongly that modern films and series are of very poor quality, and see woke, preachy undertones in most. It's not going to do what it's intended to, it will only serve to alienate the viewers and lose popularity, and hence, money.

@@zeldagoblin Have you ever watched old episodes of Star Trek, they "woke" before the term existed. They had the first interracial kiss on US tv (indeed, reactionaries were big mad) they would go to planets where women were running shit, other planets had egalitarian societies, they had pro union, anti capitalist themes, in one episode 30 years ago they had a non binary species…These episodes where great. The problem with the world "woke" when it comes to movies is not conservatives use it to criticize almost any movie where the main characters are nothing but white or straight or sometimes when it’s a woman. I remember when they complained about the Star Wars with a black guy and the white girl as main protagonists. But hey, Shapiro, Breibart are trying to compete with Hollywood with their own productions. You tell me how great all those "anti woke" movies are

That woman is trying so hard to condemn Burr and his show. I watched this show, and it is the epitome of how people lived in the 1970’s. I was a little girl like that daughter in the show, and my cousins gave me such bad looks for doing stuff that boys did. I dressed in boy clothes, because I wanted pockets and comfort. I ran harder, I was smarter. And yet (not my mom, it should be noted) people around me wanted me to act more “ladylike”. I was a KID. I wanted to DO STUFF. What’s nice is, in the show, Burr’s character ends up accepting his daughter’s drive to be a scientist. His character was a good Dad, as good as he can be for those days.

TV talk/interview shows have huge production staffs; they research guests quickly and bring tidbits to production meetings. They come up with "ask him this" "ask him that" hoping to fill 6 or 8 minutes of time. Mark Normand had a lot of fun on "New Day Cleveland" a few years ago; Mark's responses will surprised the host, but she rolled with it pretty coolly. (It's on youtube.).

When someone says "some people" in that context, they are usually referring to themself but don't wanna be embarrassed or called sensitive. The way she said "Google" was with such aggression that it seemed like she was upset that he checked her. Even though him checking her was jokingly and not him actually asking who is complaining about his jokes. But this is just another reason why ppl love Bill Burr. He's this way all the time. Its not a gimmick that he does on stage...its just who he is. As for arguing online. I have a saying when it comes to social media. "I'm not arguing with anyone who has an anime profile pic. ". Its a general statement for anyone on social media without a profile pic of themselves. Much like you, i show my face online daily on twitch and sometimes on KZbin with reactions and discussions videos. No reason to go back and forth with ppl who don't even have the balls to show who they are. *Side note before its mentioned.* Yes my KZbin image isn't me, redesigning a new logo, so using a template image until logo is done.
